Great video as usual, Ma'am! As a former title-holder myself, I would add that "having reading habit really helps a lot in answering on-stage questions". It helps expanding your knowledge, building your smart vocabulary, and acing your style of delivering answer.
@CrystalClues4 жыл бұрын
You are 100% right. I was mainly thinking of tactical component of the answer when making this video so I completely forgot this point 😅😂 Doing lots of reading setting your foundational background is super important. You really can’t “hack” or fake having a genuine understanding of current events.

OMG same girl! This is my situation right now, I was forced to join cuz they think of me as an intelligent woman but I'm not really that great when it comes to public speaking or even being on stage, my mind goes in a messy state then blank state. In addition, this will be my first ever pageant and I'm in deep pressure since my classmates kept on telling that I will win which I don't have confidence with plus the former winner was my classmate and they expect me to continue on holding that title. So here I am gaining every tips I could find in the internet to boost my self confidence and to lower my self doubt. I just wanna cry but then again a lot of people expects and supports me so I'll just do the best that I could and leave no regrets behind. I just wish that I could answer the question given to me straightforward without trembling on stage.

@CrystalClues4 жыл бұрын
Hi Marcia - good question. Trust me, you’re not the only one! Honestly the best way to practice getting your answers to become succinct and concise is to time yourself. Have a friend or family member drill you questions and set your alarm for 30 seconds. Once you’re able to get down to 30 seconds, bring it down to 25 seconds. Once you’ve managed 25 seconds, you’ll get a feel for how long that is. Then work on getting it to under 20 seconds. The alarm needs to bring audibly so you can hear it. The person drilling Q’s with you shouldn’t have to interrupt you :)

Hello Crystal san, how much the choice of language impact the judges and the performance overall , in a zonal level pageant. I am an Indian and we have Hindi as our national language. But we are all fluent English speakers too. I am wondering if using language other than English can have an impact in the overall scores.

I’m going to be in a teen pageant and i was wondering. should i not memorize things at all. or should i just know about it. since they might not ask questions exactly from the judges bio.
@DaniWalker Жыл бұрын
Memorizing answers can make you come across as rehearsed and insincere to the judges. Plus there's no guarantee that you'll get asked the exact questions you practiced and there's no way to prep an answer for every question in the world. Instead, familiarize yourself with talking points that you want to share with the judges.

Hi Crystal please give me an idea for the private interview question in each contestant. I have my pageant in 2 weeks. For a Mrs.wisconsin state pageant
@CrystalClues3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rizza, the most common questions asked in a pageant interview that you should be able to answer are who/ what/ when/where/why kinds of open ended questions. For example: 1) Who are you and why should we care? What makes your special? 2) what do you stand for? What do you plan to do as Mrs Wisconsin? 3) When do you plan on implementing your plan as Mrs Wisconsin? Do you have a plan to do something with your title? 4) Where are you from and do you know the area you’re competing to represent? Why would you be the best candidate from your district/region? 5) Why are you competing?
@rizzaschulze53983 жыл бұрын

I have a question ? That a normal answer is minimum 40 sec if a contestant wanna answer it beautifully and explaining! Can we make that answer 20 sec. Doesn't that look weird
@CrystalClues3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I don’t know of any pageant system that has a minimum time requirement for onstage question. 40 seconds is a long time onstage and in my experience, it’s rare that a contestant can speak that long without stumbling at least once (nerves) or rambling (unfocused answer.) However, never say never...it has happened and I’ve seen great answers that are on the longer side- but it requires an extraordinarily confident and rather intellectual contestant to pull it off. A short answer won’t look weird if you’re able to answer the question succinctly. But it also depends on your pageant system and what the other contestants are doing… If it’s normal for contestants in your program to have answers on the longer side, I would recommend that you strive to be among those typical answer lengths just so you’re not a total outlier.
