Hey, friends! In today's vlog, I'm doing my first DIY in our new home. I decide to tackle a small wall in our pantry to get started. I think the Homemade sign is perfect there. Just because something isn’t “trendy” doesn’t mean we can’t still love and use it. I also love the color and the hook idea for the hallway.

You did great! Who cares what people say about signs with words, if you like it, do it! I think it looks great. People, whoever they are, say things are “in” or “out” to drive people to follow trends and spend money. It’s only a trend because someone of influence, who is probably being paid to say so, has said something is on trend. Don’t fall for their tricks and do what you like. 😊

Looks great! My suggestion would be to paint the switch plate the same color as the wall so it blends in.

The board and batten being a slightly darker color than the walls really warmed up the space. And hooks above would be perfect! I know you'd decorate them beautifully! Great job! ❤❤

I love how it turned out! Great job! My one comment I would say about signs...If it makes you happy, don't worry if it has words or not. We have many signs that have been personalized that are in our home. I'm not going to get rid of them just because someone says it not trendy anymore. It's our home. If someone comes in and says something, too bad. They are staying.

FABULOUS JOB! The entire main floor of our house is painted Accessible Beige, with exception of 2 accent walls, one in living room, which surrounds fireplace & one small wall, behind head of our bed, which is between 2 windows. As you look down the hall you can see our bed & the accent wall behind it, which is just a bit wider than the headboard. That wall & the fireplace wall are both "accented" with same color, for continuity, since both are visible from living room! I love the Accessible Beige! Great choice. Your talents amaze me & l had to chuckle as you did your carpentry work wearing Gold Slippers! Lol! About the hook board...l don't think l would hang anything that sticks out. Carrying in sacks, boxes, etc., "l" would be bumping into any possible obstacle! So maybe think that over??? ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤

The sign is perfect. Do our homes not reflect our likes? Our homes should be reflections of our family not what the latest look is. If you enjoy something and it brings you joy, go for it. Now probably no one will agree with me but . . I would try to do the same look on the small amount of wall on the other side of the door. I think it would tie in better. I love the look and would love to do the same thing here. Been thinking of my entry way and two bay window areas. Wanna come and help!???

Sorry, also wanted to mention you can rent many tools from the major home improvement stores. Saws included. So never scrap a project thinking you will have to buy an item, you may be able to rent it for your project.

I love the color! I love the sign too. I think instead of hooks you should get wooden pegs and you can stain them the same color as your baskets on the left. They might not be quite as functional as hooks but I think it would look really cute.
