By the sounds of it the Dolch is the only thing that might get the permanent removal treatment. I’d be interested in limited time removals of certain ammo types just to shake things up though.

I'd fine with them removing dolch fmj+dum dum even as someone that uses them. The problem is it's a straight upgrade since you're already relying on special ammo supplies.

Think i never met people using dolch with dumdum so i dont se a problem here? dolch dumdum aint the worst, nitro with shredder is 10 times worse, this community always complain and cries, what do you think toxicpancake88?

I think Dolch FMJ is more what people have an issue with, one of the main downsides of the Dolch compared with alternate meta sidearms like the uppercut was it’s weaker penetration. With FMJ the Dolch becomes a fast firing, large clipped side arm that can penetrate most things which I can totally see as being a poor balance choice as then it has very few downsides. I don’t have much issues with it personally but wouldn’t miss it remotely if it was removed.

By the sounds of it, the only option that will (potentially) be losing ammo permanently will be the Dolch, which I’m personally not fussed about. The rest of the arsenals ammo options arnt particularly problematic imo so it would definitely be a shame if they reduced the variety options for the other guns. I find the concept of them rotating in and out various ammo types temporarily interesting though, could result in some fresh variety and seasonal gameplay shifts as a result but we’ll have to wait and see I guess

I hope they remove special ammo from a lot of the guns. It takes away the uniqueness from the weapons. For example, the Centennial has Dum Dum and HV which makes the Vetterli obsolete (persay) but you get my point. Whereas, DumDum on the Dolch is broken in the right hands (not my hands 😂) but still yet my 6-star friend says it’s cancer at the moment. Idk.. I just think the more expensive weapons should come with a gamble like upsides and downsides not just 100% good all-around thanks to special ammo if that makes sense. I believe in the Devs to balance the special ammo though because they’ve done a great job with everything else so far!

I don't think the centennial special ammo makes the vetterli obsolete. I personally choose the vetterli over centennial 9 times out of 10.

I think most of the additions are okay, some overlaps imo arnt necessarily a bad thing, I think the Vetterli still very much has a place, my only main gripe was the overlaps between the scottfield and the pax, it was nice when they had individual options and matched up with specific medium ammo rifles but now the scottfield pretty much does all the pax can with more variants. I swear someone at Crytek just has a thing for the scottfield family 😂

@@ToxicPancake88 - Special ammo or not, people just favor weapons, but as far as balance goes I think it throws off the shift of the economy a little. Me personally I’d take the Pax with regular ammo over the Schofield with any ammo any day of the week. I don’t have an issue since I stay around the 4-5 Star range but I’m sure 3s and 6s are affected the most.

The Uppermat sounded more like they were intending to improve it as they said it wasn’t currently very favoured. Which is wild considering the buffs it got last update, it’s a very good option Imo.

Let's just remove what makes the Dolch somewhat useful again, got it. Honestly I still have way bigger issues with Spitzer and Cenny Dum Dum than Dolch DD.

I think Dolch FMJ is the contender here not DD. The Dolch is a very well rounded and viable weapon without custom ammo; fast rof, large clip, tight recoil, decent hipfire and clean sights. It’s only main drawbacks that separate it from the other main meta sidearm pick of an uppercut is it’s damage drop off and lack of penetration, something FMJ negates. Both spitzer and dum dum have distinctive downsides for the weapons mentioned, the problem with Dolch FMJ is it’s more of a straight upgrade as the downsides of FMJ is slower velocity and harder resupply. The Dolch already being special ammo means the resupply is no different with FMJ and at the ranges the Dolch is best played at the velocity is negligible. So it gains all of the pros without the trade offs. Don’t get me wrong I’ve never had huge issues with it but I really wouldn’t be bothered if they removed it as I feel it really never needed it.

Honestly the reason special ammo is so unliked is that it benefits some guns more so than others to the point that normal ammo is pointless as soon as you unlock it, so its not a point of "playstyle" and the recent buffs to fire ammo/ bleed ammo were way to overtuned. They didnt need buffs regardless of some who casually play were upset they didnt get immediate gratification out of their use. It broke the already unstable balance of the guns

I wouldn’t say that it makes regular ammo pointless at all, the vast majority of custom ammo has heavy balance trade offs and makes your gun less easier and efficient to resupply. Regular ammo absolutely still has a place and it’s benefits. That being said I do agree the fire ammo buff wasn’t needed

@@gutterflower well agree to an exten when in 5 - 6 star you still see people not suffering much from ammo issues even with special ammo and true regular isnt completely useless on low/cost efficient guns but overall the changes werent need on either fire/bleed ( I would have been fine with medium ammo dum dum if they just kept it only to drilling but adding it to cent was a complete oversight and would even say the same for high V, Cent is a decent gun even without FMJ but just turning rifles into hit scans? might as well just remove the whole perma death aspect give us TDM
