I Can See Your Blood Flow
I'm not sure when it started, but for a long time now I've had this reoccurring daydream where I walk outside my house, look upwards, and start to slowly float towards the sky. Suspended in the air, rising up, the people and buildings on the ground getting smaller and smaller... It has always given me this very unique feeling that I can't pin down; Almost like a nostalgia for something that hasn't happened yet. It's poetic. Profound. My pulse quickens, I get this invigorating feeling of moving on to another world. It's almost a sort of "L'appel Du Vide." Suddenly nothing else matters. I close my eyes and feel absolute peace.
Where am I going? What am I escaping? What awaits me?
I'm not sure where this single came from inside of me, but I know it has to do with that image. The entire time I was writing, recording and producing this, I felt it. Every time I listen to it, even now, I feel I'm getting a glimpse into that other world. The clouds are parting, I'm venturing into the void. I hope that, in some small way, it can make you feel the same way.
-J
~~~~ Lyrics ~~~~
Lift up your eyes, child
Lift up your arms, you are home
I know you're hurt, child
But you can't do this on your own
And I can see your blood flow
And I can feel your hurt now
Did you think I'd let you be alone
And I can hear your sorrow
Playing through the airwaves
I can tell your breath flows with my own
I will find you somehow
Let me be the salt in your wounds
Clean you from the inside
All your love is gone now
I've never been a coward, my dear,
But I'm afraid of what you are
I'll untie you
From the strings caught in your wings
And I'll try to
Fill in the gaps, all of the cracks they left behind
His songs aren't just talking about situations, there are a lot of emotions in its' melody. Listening to his songs, I feel heartbroken, at the same time, loved. Fragile, but at the same time strong. Despair, but at the same time, full of hopes. Empty and helpless, but at the same time, not giving up on your own dream. I can't really describe this work of music. It's been a long time since I truly appreciate this sort of non-mainstream piece of music, and now I'm in love with his work. This is the vocal that makes me feel emotional and sentimental. Desperately in love with his music. Fallen in love with his album.
I know exactly what you mean!!! I used to go to concerts as a kid and would become obsessed with bands and artists hanging their posters in my room and getting them to sign their album covers. As I got older I still love music but I didn’t have those artists that I am completely obsessed with until I heard Crywolf!!! He’s fantastic live too 😍 can’t wait to see him again now I’m a mom of two so it’s a little harder
This left me speechless the first time I heard it, still does. Recently I visited Mount Saint Helens with family/friends and we climbed to altitudes high enough to see the stars in all their glory above cloud level, late into the night. Probably the most enchanting experience of my life, accompanied by this album. This song in particular fit the scene of the starlight quite beautifully, really goes to say how potent an effect your music can have on a listener. Impeccable album start to finish, love your work so much
Thank you so much for making music. Your songs are so beautiful, and they get me through my day. My girlfriend and I have had a hard time lately, and we've been fighting a lot. We plan on getting married, so our our relationship is very serious. Recently we began to grow farther and farther apart. We fought almost every day over trivial things. One day on our way back from another town, we were listening to Crywolf (and Eden❤) because we both love you guys. We listened to Bedroom Eyes, Halloween 1987, and Eyes Half Closed. We sang to each other and smiled bigger than we had in a while. After that, I played Limitless by Eden, and she broke down into tears. She started to apologize for pushing me away. I began to apologize for being an idiot and making dumb decisions. We made up, and everything was good for a bit. She was very stressed out because of college and other stuff, so she was often on edge. She took her stress out on me, but I can't blame her because I wasn't do anything to help. We began to fall apart again. Two nights ago, I asked her to Homecoming. Our Homecoming is next week, so I wrote "I know that I'm a little l8, but will you be my hoco d8?" on my wall. I had jokingly asked her to homecoming a long time ago, but I wanted to surprise her by doing it for real. She smiled so big and hugged me and kissed me and it was amazing. As the day went on, we started fighting (I don't even remember what about). We had a discussion about college because we might have to be in a long distance relationship for 3 years. We were laying in my room, and my dad walks in and points to the wall and says "That makes me want to date you!", and walks out. My girlfriend started crying and said that she's sorry she takes me for granted. We made up again. Last night, we went on a date and it was so amazing. We went out to eat, went to goodwill, and watched a movie. When we were in the Jeep, I played this song at leat 10 times. It's so beautiful, and it reminds me that I can't live without her. She's my life, and she loves me more than anyone ever could. I know this story was kind of long and probable hard to follow, but I just want to thank you for helping us get through tough times. I'm a huge fan, and I always will be. If you're ever going through something, I'm here for you. It's the least I could do.
Thank you Justin! YOu are my hero...
WOuah, je viens de découvrir ton album, en une fraction de seconde, je suis tomber amoureuse de la voix, l'atmosphère, la force que tu fais ressentir dans la douceur. Bravo ! J'ai hâte de dévorer tout tes titres !
