Still Listening in 2023. First heard Crywolf about 6 years ago just before i had to break things off with my girlfriend. Song came up on Pandora and immediately resonated with how i felt in the moment leading to the break up, and after it. So much pain, but helped with so much healing too. Now i’m engaged with my true love and am glad Crywolf contributed to saving my life.

I understand why you say this, because it can make even your favorite artist become stale if they go mainstream or simply gain popularity, but have you ever looked at it from the artist's side? Of course they make their work to express their experiences and emotions, but a lot of the time, fame is a large motivation to create as well. Not only to make money, but to create a community with a bond inexpressible by words. So when they see their fans say things like "I hope they never get big" or "I want them to be underground/unknown forever", don't you think that hurts them, to see their fans hoping for the exact opposite of their goals and dreams? I know you probably didn't mean it as so, but whenever I hear fans say things like this, it sounds a little selfish in my opinion. Build them up and help them achive their goals; talk about and share them with others, don't sabotage them by keeping them to yourself as though the are a precious gem that's only for you.

bloodsucker123ful Totally understand the sentiment! His music has always felt so personal to the people who listen to it, even me, so it's weird seeing his name get big. It's amazing though. Justin came up in my home town- the electronic scene had an awesome little family. I assure you that while he's grown and improved as an artist over the years, I think he's too genuine of a dude to let the mainstream ever influence his music to be something he doesn't truly feel :)x

And they get the media's support because they're signed to big corporate labels, and they rely on the same share of money to thrive. They're rich, and in capitalism, the richest people are the most influential. They monopolize the market, and buy out as much as they can to gain influence (every label does this to an extent, it's kinda the point, but the rich get richer). People are programmed through pop culture to like whatever's popular, as humans, especially in females, we psychologically desire to be known, and be influential to other people following the trend, and because they only see the riches corporate 1% (we only see whatever 1% we follow too, even if we don't like pop and stay in lesser known circles of music). The mainstream media knows this and exploits this, and uses their money and power to gain more of it. They're smart. Marketing is mostly about psychology. Also, Crywolf definitely isn't underrated for what he's does. If you excluded all pop artists from your list, he's _extremely_ popular. Sorry for the novel. lol
