Hey man... Love your videos! Really takes me back to the time when I rocked a Compaq Presario 1200. Was my 1st compy and I loved it to death! Jeez I remember the FPS drops I got when I tried to run CS. At any rate... I'll play a few rounds w/ you guys tomorrow. btw Isn't it amazing that we got the old web and other tools which enable us to simulate what was real -for us- almost a quarter century ago?! Huge respect for really putting an effort into emulating the old school feel and even actually getting binaries/servers to work :) - you'll be appreciated for this by me and many others. I was more in the Quake camp (QuakeWorld) and mostly only hopped on CS for some "fun" with friends. Still, great times.

I played competitively for 15+ years starting in CS 1.5. This brings back some of my favorite memories in my life. My whole school started to play CS at the same time and a few of us made a team and grinded from CAL open to Invite with locals from our city. I think anyone who played competitive CS around this era 1.3 / 1.5 / 1.6 will all say it was the best time of our lives. I miss being a kid lol.

Not having any idea what it was, created a game solo just running around exploring maps.. then my brother helped me connect to internet and first time entering games with opponents was just wow

Man, I feel so much nostalgia right now. But to be fair I started with CS 1.6 and not 1.0 so the experience could be different. And I remember that, when I already knew how to play CS 1.6 and went private server with my friends and started wrecking them almost every round, they thought that I'm cheating. That was very funny. But later day after that, they came to my place and saw the clean CS 1.6 without any cheats, they were surprised of how well I'm playing against them. Because, I know how recoil works and how to shoot right in to the head and stuff, when my friends where complete casuals. And they were just holding fire button until bullet randomly hits someone. Sure, they were more hanging out outside, drinking, smoking and whatnot, you know, usual stuff, while I was at home playing video games. For them games were more like few times play in a week or month, while I was sitting 24/7 after school and just playing none stop. Those were the best teenage years in my life. That was until I started to encounter cheaters even on our private server and that is when I stopped playing in multiplayer because I got sick of cheaters. And seeing how much cheaters there are these days, I rather play solo than with someone.

@@ZnifferN I wish I could but I can't for many reasons. One of which is the fact that I have sort of a wifi internet that I send to my PC from my phone. And then I'm playing offline version of CS 1.6 the latest version, downloaded from some website with the client that is protecting the game from any change that can be done to it. Which means that none of the servers can't change anything in my game. Like, it has some fancy bots names, and when I deleting the file that changes their name, it comes back because the game restores it when I launch it after deleting the file. So yeah, I can't even if I would wanted to. I also have some mods installed, like CoD MW 2019 guns animation, just because I wanted the nicer animation for my game.
