Every time I watch Flusha on LAN I laugh at how people accused him of cheating. WTF does he need to cheat for? He's hands down one of the greatest players to have ever played this game. A-game every time.

One of the reasons I know a lot about how these LAN (not online) tournaments work is because of the KQLY and Titan scandal leading up to DreamHack Winter 2014. I attended MGL Aspen earlier this year (in my home state) and I asked an official what they do and have done to prevent these cheats/hacks from entering the LAN field (since KQLY, Emilio, smn, and Sf were all VAC'ed on official online tourneys). He said that it IS possible to get hacks onto LAN through Workshop, but that has been common knowledge since Steamworks in 2008, so to prevent that, the officials download the competitor's profiles to make sure there aren't any little hitchhikers, and the main LAN server is not connected to the internet the entire duration of the tournament. in 2011 it was discovered that certain hacks could be made to be delivered on the onboard memory on peripherals, so since then, all MLG and ESL tournaments provide the player's preferred peripherals (say that 5x fast) and configure them to the professional's settings (bindings, sensitivities, etc). If the player finds that the settings are not correct, they must call a referee over to monitor the changes made. ESL is actually so serious about cheating, they are going to start drug testing players, mainly for Adderall. Sorry for getting pissed. But I think there was a misunderstanding between cheating on LAN and cheating on official online. Back to my original point I keep making about Flusha, you may think he's cheating online, but the fact that he does so amazing well in LAN's shows that he really is top-notch. IMHO, he's probably the most head's up player and the best at predicting what opponents are going to do.
