These videos are great, though I find the running smokes extremely inconsistent (namely the inside and past arch smokes which I only tried out). The truck smoke is also really difficult to pull off with only your crosshair. I use my viewmodel and land it perfectly, without viewmodel I find it nearly impossible to do it consistently. To clarify things up and help us do the smokes more consistently, maybe tell us how you line yourself up a BIT more detailed, since many grenades need to be nearly pixel perfect? :) Nonetheless, great video! foggle Sure thing! I definitely skimmed on the info for the truck one, which is something I've aimed to correct in future videos (this was the first video I had ever made!). As a secondary point, any smoke that involves running or jumping will always be a difficult one, and that truck one is probably one of the most difficult in this video. Kalidh Mohamed Classic, but these smokes don't rely on the viewmodel, as they aren't lined up with anything on the viewmodel. I'm going to guess the nade spot that isn't working for you is one where you jump and throw or run and throw. This would be because they need more specific timing to perform than a simple stand and throw. This Inferno video was my first, and in future videos I try to focus solely on nade spots that don't require movement or jumping as they are much easier to perform, however some spots require it and cannot be avoided 100%. I would recommend using a jump bind for consistent jump nades, but the running ones are still about your own timing and perfecting the nade throw.

Have you done a tutorial on jump binds? I know it's common knowledge, but a lot of people probably still don't know about it. _EDIT_: Because of your reply, I've removed how to do the bind from my comment. I don't want to contribute to someone being banned from ESEA.

wReckLesss Ah, I don't personally use jump binds, and I wouldn't recommend it - it makes things easier, but it introduces problems as well. For example, for every jump bind spot, you need to learn two spots - one for 64 tick and one for 128 tick, as the jump bind changes. If you don't use a jump bind, it doesn't change. And make sure you read the rules of any tournament or league you intend to play in, as well as asking the organiser or your assigned contact, as they will be able to give you a concrete yes or no on this bind.

I recently watched a lot of videos and quite a lot of them were made by Pro Gamers. A few of them really sad that it's necessary to have this macro. And I think it was 2013at Dreamhack or sth. like that (a big event), where the commentator discussed such things, and it needs to stay implemented. Even though players at all ranks use this and especially players in top ranks say they use it. For what I can say is that pashaBiceps "flamed" some1 on his match during his stream tat he dont use the macro, so im implying, that he uses this macro. The macro is no "wtf imba, ban this" macro. Sure you can practice jumpthrow without macro, but you will never be 100% consitant without it.

mrboxley Hey man, thanks for your comment. Just to let you know, in the description of the video are video timings. If you click on one of these, it will take you to the start of the clip for that nade spot. Just click it again when you've finished watching that clip to see it again. I don't think putting each clip in twice will be a good idea, because then the video will double in length, and those that only want to see it once are forced to see it twice. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Jamie are you using a jump/throw macro and if so, is there a way to correct for it if we dont? There are certain throws that I just cant seem to replicate (e.g. the first hits the roof every time) I've tried every pitch at the same azimuth from that washing line shadow and just cant land the nade. Its driving me crazy :P

+MBorgC Yeah I use a jump throw bind, and unfortunately you'll never hit jump throws 100% of the time without it. A single off-tick will mess up the throw if it's not executed sequentially via the bind.

This part (of the chimney) touches this weird bit of clouds. The clouds go from a clump of grey to a blue, but it doesn't need to be too accurate, and there's actually better smokes than this. Jonnern "Run until this part [of the chimney] touches this bit of clouds (the bit that's a different colour)". In hindsight, this smoke isn't good to stop a banana push, but it IS good to stop an AWPer that plays on the T Spawn steps, though you can do that yourself when you get to B easily anyway. There's a better smoke than this to stop a banana push, and you can see it in the Inferno booster pack here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oH6aZKClZZl8r6s It smokes the top of banana instead, which allows the smoker to smoke it then push to A, and thus giving you two more smokes on B to cut out 45s of round time.

Hy, i usually liked you videos the most, but here the first 3 smokes aren't working for me. I tryed for 30 minutes now, and made a jumpthrow bind for the first one but now smokes comes close where it should be^^. I heard that the same aspect ratio and/or resulution matters to see the same. Luke Latham It's one of the more difficult smokes in this video, but if you practice it enough, it's not too bad. The problem is it's a run and jump smoke, so there's always timing issues with both running and jumping, which are compounded by the fact that this one includes both.

The first one seems impossible? I havent ever got the smoke to go far enough to not bounce off the roof and fail. Even with a fullspeed run and throwing right under the skybox, the smoke simply won't fly far enough.

Make sure you tap W and Space on this throw so that you run and jump just as you throw. You don't want to be running fullspeed as it will likely go too high, and you want it right at the very start of the jump, so it doesn't go full height. It's a tricky one, but you'll get it with practice!

Just run the map offline - either use the menu and start a game with bots, or type map mapname in console. Then use various commands to kick bots, set time to 60mins, give 60k cash, show trajectories/bullet impacts etc. you can find these just by looking up a practise configs in Google, saving it into your cfg folder and typing exec configname.cfg in console. Also useful is to bind a key to noclip, and even to accelerate time (a little complicated) to clear smokes quickly.

Sure thing. The ones I use on my dedi are below. Remove rcon if you play offline with bots. You can just copy and paste these into console or your autoexec: alias "setup" "rcon_password password; rcon sv_cheats 1; rcon sv_infinite_ammo 1; rcon sv_showimpacts 1; rcon mp_warmuptime 3000; rcon bot_kick all; bind n noclip; god; rcon mp_warmup_start" alias "guns" "give weapon_hegrenade; give weapon_flashbang; give weapon_smokegrenade; give weapon_incgrenade; give weapon_ak47; give item_assaultsuit" I also have metamod and sourcemod installed on my dedi, so that I can use this for online grenade trails: forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=240668&highlight=grenade If you're playing with bots, you can use sv_grenade_trajectory to show them offline, but that doesn't work online. Then just type setup in to the console and you're good to go. I typed these out while at work, so I'll double check they're all correct when I get home. EDIT: Checked them, and they're good to go. Oh, you're talking about the one from near A site. The main reason is to fool CTs in to thinking there's a player left in banana. That or, if you solo push mid, you can still help your team at B with smokes from A.

339lenny Thanks a lot! First of all, you need to set up your own server (as an offline server using map de_inferno won't work). Then you need to install metamod and sourcemod on it, so that you can add this plugin: forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=240668&highlight=grenade That plugin is what gives me the nade trails, and they work online too :)

+thetrialshot its actually not. Running smokes and jump smokes are tick specific. standing smokes are universal. Was trying certain run/jump smokes i can hit 10/10 in practice offline with bots (64 tick) went into a 128 tick server and i couldnt hit it and went 0/6 before i went back to offline and hit it 10/10 again. looked it up and there is a difference

***** The jump smokes in this video are shown for 128 tick. Everything except the jump smokes work on 64 and 128 tick. And for the jump smokes you just need to aim a bit lower on 64 tick for them to work

Smokes hit something every single time. Really inconsistent. Tried the first 4 smokes as you explained but none worked so I stopped the vid. Put some more effort in your videos and show us the correct position to stand in and where to aim. And also, dont use jump macros.
