Hi, it's me again. I have a question for you as an expert in CS. I recently did a performance test of CS after about 10 months and noticed an issue with 0.1% low FPS. Currently, I'm using Win11 with ReviOS, and my average FPS is higher than before, but the 0.1% low FPS can drop to 100 FPS on an empty map. Previously, when I did the exact same test on Win10, my average FPS was slightly lower (probably because of ReviOS), but the 0.1% low FPS was over 400 FPS, and the 1% low FPS was over 500 FPS. I'm wondering if this issue is more related to the differences between Win10 and Win11, or if a game update released in the meantime has significantly worsened the low FPS? Here is the link to the test video I did before: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4nCm4VogLWBp68 Currently, the 0.1% FPS is around 95-100, and the 1% FPS is around 300-350, while the average FPS is a bit higher than in the video.

for setups like mine and yours the windows 11 won't make much difference compared to low-end setups. about the cs2 performance. few updates back the fps got a hit, nothing huge but noticeable. the 0.1% lows cant say to much about because i do not test it. what i did notice and instant removed it was the latest nvidia drivers causing many issues on my cs2, losing 100+ fps and the 1% low droped to around 150 fps. now im still running the 556.12 driver and its all back to normal. cs2 feels better on lower resolutions but on setups like ours, we have very high 1% lows on 1440p and 4k resolution. overall, cs2 runs better on high resolution (fps drops and 1%lows) but the feeling is not the same. so i prefer to play 1440x1080 or 1280x960... feels smoother.

@@FocusGamlng Oh, it might actually be the NVIDIA drivers. Thanks a lot, I'll definitely check that out today or tomorrow, as it could be the solution. If it turns out that’s not the issue, I’ll try setting up Windows 10 on another drive quickly and see how it performs with the old drivers. Either way, I’ll let you know if I find a definite fix :D I also used to always play at 1280x960, and later at 1440x1080 (with an FHD monitor) or 1920x1440 (on a 1440p monitor). But for some time now, since I started playing Valorant and a few other FPS games in addition to CS, it’s been really hard to switch from 4:3 to 16:9 because everything, including turning, felt much faster in 4:3.

@@FocusGamlng I'll be honest with you, I don't remember right now because I usually disable the icon right away so that Vanguard doesn't show up in the system tray, and I don't recall if it's still there in the processes. From what I remember, when I'm setting processes in Process Lasso to run on a specific CCD, I don't recall seeing Vanguard on the list either. It seems to me that it only appears when you launch the Riot client, but as I said, I can't be 100% sure; I need to check that.

@@FocusGamlng Hi, I tested this and found that the NVIDIA drivers don't make much of a difference. Currently, the performance is quite similar between the latest version 560.81 and the one I tested 10 months ago, 537.41. It turns out that the issue is actually with Windows... On Win11, I get: 1004fps (avg), 480 (1%), 89 (0.1%). On Win10: 971 (avg, but this could be a measurement error), 530 (1%), 480 (0.1%). It's shocking. Additionally, the clocks on both CCDs are much more stable on Win10. I'm going to test it again by installing ReviOS on Win10 to see if the results improve even further, but honestly, I didn't expect this. I was more inclined to think it was due to the CS update over the past 10 months. I might even make a video about this since I haven't seen anything similar-thorough tests in competitive games.
