Amazing video dude. If you don't speak the language then this must have been an incredible effort to just research. Recently started learning Chinese and this is so insightful and also matches up with what i have been learning so far.

Great video! My parents are japanese and I asked them about some of these stickers and they said some very similar things such as the horse in karrigans name. Fallen is also known as the "professor" in Brazilian CS as he was a huge figure in growing/teaching the Brazilian CS scene so "god father" is a very fitting way of reffering to him. Also Kaze in japanese is the word for wind written the exact same to chinese symbol "feng". I thought the meaning behind AlexiB's signature was extra funny and I kinda love it now lol

That's interesting, a lot of traditional Chinese share the same characters with Kanji. Kaze makes a lot more sense now to me.

@@SkinomiCS2 In undergrad, I worked with a phd researcher from Kyoto. He'd always joke with the Chinese students in the lab that Japanese people are lazy. Saying that they just stole the Chinese alphabet and simplified a lot it to make Japanese.

@Shkronkle I wouldn't call it an Alphabet since there are 50000+ characters. The Kanji portion of Japanese was developed from Chinese, but realistically the two languages are quite different. I'd actually say Japanese share more commonality with Korean since they both use an alphabet systen.

@@TVFrag hahaha, so there is a study that i read that basically u can differentiate the race of people you grew up with better. I'm okay with both since I have a Chinese background.

@hansum_AWP i personally like the dragon quite a bit, using the pwe logo would be quite different from the past though, it's always been the city not the organisation hosting.
