Csgo. Felt so good I could literally spend hours shooting bots, playing retake servers or even just bunny hopping around a death match server. Game felt so good. Cs2 can play 10 minutes of deathmatch, game feels wierd and janky. Get frustrated. Turn it off

not to mention how hollow and tiney the audio is, in csgo everything had impact, in cs2 it's so weak and surface level sounding. Also another bug that I at least have, is whenever I have the game open, it adjusts my volume mixer for whatever apps I'm using by 20% up and down randomly, and eventually different apps end up at 0%.

You are right tbf was playing with my friend in wingman, I got 2 kills from short on A site inferno went behind the wall and my shots somehow registered as I was behind the wall. Makes no sense and I was literally on 20ping. It's as if my bullets have some kind of delay or something

the game feels like it has +50ms delay for every animation when someone swings you, you have to shoot differently than in csgo- you need to take into account that what u see isnt at real time, but a bit delayed

Just look at a killcam, You get HS'd so quick you actually cannot react from your POV but from the Killcam/replay the enemy has almost a good half second and it genuinely looks like he has forever to kill you, but in reality you saw the guy for 0.1 seconds.

csgo had at least 15ms delay when it came to shooting, because it didn't tell the game to shoot but had to parse that action and convert that into a command or something

Literally there’s so many instances where I spray someone and look away then look back bc either 1: they’re dead but the death animation is so delayed that I think they’re alive 2: sub tick moment and they are alive and I end up dying even though it’s a kill I would’ve gotten 9 times out of ten

I did the mistake of playing for the first time csgo when cs2 just got announced (i played with my friends who were hyped for cs2), by the time i got used to csgo, cs2 got released and yeah... the difference between a polished game and a preview sums it up to perfection

Cs2 just feels more loose. Csgo felt more rigid and responsive. Best example i can give is that cs2 feels like a ball, while csgo felt more like a cube.

This is so nostalgic to hear, its almost word for word what I remember hearing when CSS came out comparing to CS. And the funny thing is, CSGO is really just the final evolution of CSS, both being "counter strike on the source engine". Valve gave up trying to get CSS to a good state in favor of back-porting their console port of CSS to the PC. The same game (reskinned with a console friendly UI and matchmaking) that goldsrc CS players said "just feels bad, with bad netcode and isn't optimized well enough".

The fact that they replaced CSGO with CS2 shows that they are not confident in the quality and refinement of CS2 on its own to attract enough existing players to switch from CSGO. If these existed simultaneously, then people would be able to see the difference way more clearly by playing CSGO and CS2 back to back, and way fewer players would be on CS2 as a result. Frankly I wouldn't have switched if I had the choice, because I consistently got 280 FPS on csgo and now it's more like an indonsistent 160 on cs2.

No matter what PC you have cs2 will be shit. I upgraded my pc and my monitor because i needed to and the result of the game is the same. PC is 7800x3d 4070ti super + 540 hert monitor. I get over 600 fps and the game still feels like shit.

I think it's the other way around. They felt really confident that CS2 would be better than CSGO for the fact that the former replaced the latter. Think of it like a girl having a rebound guy. If she's not happy anymore with her current, she'll go back to the rebound guy. And if she keeps going back to the rebound guy, it means she's not confident enough to be with another other than the rebound guy.

I put 5k hours into csgo. Best game that ever existed. The most twists a game could ever contain. Pushing, defending, switching places, ct defending bomb down, t pushing, t defending plant, crazy plays, goated movement, incredible opportunity for intuition and reading. And then they released csgo 2. Ruined the main part of the game. k1lling the enemy. They only did it to make skins look cooler. The only feature that changed in csgo to csgo 2 was the smokes. They based csgo 2 around skins, greed. Completely disregarding what the game was.

It's bad enough they killed movement, but now they are actively stopping me from moving at random times multiple times EVERY GAME. Also had to make an auto exec with bind mwheeldown +jump because it unbinds every time I launch my game.

that last point u made is the biggest thing for me , before i used to get 200-250 fps no issue on medium to high settings now i get average 80 fps and at best 120 . makes playing on a 144 monitor pointless , ive tried everything settings on low , 1280x960 resolution but that game just not optimised for my setup , i play on a laptop ryzen 7 4800h , rtx 2060 6gb , 16 gb ram 3200. i am not a fan of valorant but i launched it up a while ago just to see what its like and i get ezily 160-180 fps on default settings . now i know cs2 graphics are different but god i wish valve just kept csgo and did a small graphics update and fixed the cheater issue than whatever this cs2 pile of junk is

I used to play on Ryzen 5 3600X and 1660 Ti with 32G of RAM running the game at very high resolution or high with 200-300 FPS. I don't know what people are doing with their PC to literally not get FPS

I have a 2060 and a 10750h and I kid you not, in May I had perfect fps, never dropped below 144, and could even run Aim Lab at the same time no prob. Now with nothing else running I struggle to even get 144 at all often more around 120. No settings change this. I also started getting really REALLY bad stuttering when turning ANY settings up. Even after clearing my Shader Cache that makes the game not pause every .25 of a second. Not to mention the sliding and random lag that just wasn't there before. It truly feels like 100+ ping 64 tick. CS Source on 60 feels pretty similar tbh...

Uhm I think there is something wrong with your drivers, I have a ryzen 7 3700x and get over 240fps. Also I'm guessing you have a laptop so it's probably your Temps are getting too high resulting in your hardware being underclocked to compensate

The funny thing is that Valve actually released a patch that turns the engine loopback back on when you go into a map with the "map" command, which makes the game actually feel like CS:GO did, at least when it comes to shooting. Tried it yesterday with locals, and yeah. What a difference. CS2 is actually a fine game if the servers actually told you the information on time. It does not do that. With this small update, Valve might actually have a benchmark in CS2 to achieve server-side, so we can end this horrible era once-and-for-all.

@@tk2141 For the subtick thing, I think it's cool to ensure the game assesses some situations correctly, like who shot first when two players shoot at the same tick but not at the same real time, instead of giving the W to the player who joined the server first every time, like it does in TF2/CS:GO, but it's taking awfully long to process 10 players like this, so tick update comes a tick or two late, and on 64 tick servers, that's disastrously late.

Try playing online, but with more or less players and see. I haven't tried this, so I cannot confirm what I said above. 5v5 and 1v1 feel completely different to me, but I haven't checked it that thoroughly. I feel like the movement is what's slowing the servers down to a crawl. Like, shooting cannot be that demanding. Maybe Valve could make the movement not tied to subtick, and leave subtick to very small(in info size) things like shooting, throwing grenades, etc.

6:50 that is just CS2 being significantly more demanding than CS:GO. Everyone has lost FPS with the change, I usually have just barely above 100 fps now with a 1070 and r7 2700x. Actually wrong lol, I went back on csgo demo and I had the same fps for some reason even though it was uncapped, my cpu could be the issue and not my gpu (I have a ryzen 7 3700x) so it comes down to the movement and hit reg imo. Edit: I was getting 240frames on both cs2 and go

The problem is, we are a year into this subtick experiment and as every day passes, it becomes more and more difficult for Valve to admit failure and revert back. They are stubborn, they like to do things their own way and they tend to stick with their decisions and slowly finetune until it works properly. Despite this, I think the community still had faith in Valve and believed they would make subtick work at some point. But since now Deadlock is the new shiny thing, the general fear is Valve's focus will shift from CS2 before it's fixed properly.

Valve abandons all of their games. Half life, portal and l4d are all left sitting there, and TF2 and CS2 are stuck in no update limbo. Instead, Valve devs move on to make some shitty overwatch clone nobody wants that is going to do about as well as Artifact did. Remember Artifact? Me neither. Valve has been managed so incredibly poorly its astounding. Its like they have nobody in charge and everyone just walks around doing whatever the heck they want instead of actually doing their jobs.

I had around 120fps with a GTX 1080 at 1440p, but with my 3080, I get around 150fps at the same resolution. My friend, who has a 3070, gets around 280fps. The game's optimization is flawed and only seems to worsen with time. I will admit, I expected more from Valve seeing as CS2 is almost 1 year old. The state of the game is absolutely tragic, and it doesn't help that Valve is completely silent on every issue. I don't even want to play anymore, because if they don't care... why should we? EDIT: My GTX 1080 system has an i7-8700k and my 3080 system has an i7-12700k.

CS2 feels inconsistent with micro rubber-banding in fights and hit reg my guess is from sub tick. Like early electronic throttle bodies in cars where the foot is disconnected from opening the throttle and has to wait for the electric motors to respond to commands….Csgo feels like a old car with a throttle cable where the foot is directly attached to the throttle and responds with the movement of the foot instantly with minimal delay. Best analogy I can come up with. I still like playing yprac in csgo as it feels and looks so smooth and the running accuracy is worse. It feels like cs. CS:GO already had its problems and, especially with the pressure from valorant (which is objectively making everything better) everyone thought that the new CS would finally come with 128Tick servers and kernel anti-cheat. What we got is hard coded 64-subtick-commercial-gag and literally no anticheat. Due to the hard coding you cant even dodge over to faceit no more for better servers. I dont think that there is one single pro player who wouldn't agree on the same 3-4 things, which this game needs. It is no matter of knowledge, it is no secret, therefore it is no matter of listening. Valve - doesn't - give - a - shit. They could ask every pro player and would get the same answere. Give us 128 Tick. Then ask every casual player above 10k points and they would get the same answere. Give us kernel anticheat. I would pay 20$ per month for this.

This is extremely noticeable when you are trying to tap. Especially on pistol rounds. If the opponent is standing still, it doesn’t really matter but if they are moving and even if your crosshair is on their head and you shoot, it’s almost impossible to kill them.

18 frames at 480fps is just shy of 38ms and is absolutely a perceivable delay by a human. Whilst it is far quicker than a human's reaction time, even ordinary people (nevermind professional gamers) can perceive delays of around 10ms Source: Google human brain processes images in 10ms or human brain processes delays of 10ms. I'm on mobile so cannot link them unfortunately.

Google the definition of "constructive criticism", please. We complain, because we want the game to be better. Many people LOVE the game and that's why they complain. Counter-Strike 2 is in a very bad state right now. It is infested with cheaters, everything feels delayed, subtick doesn't really work, the movement is different, the shooting is different, the optimisation is worse, etc. People complain about these things, because they want those issues gone. The issues being gone means the game is better, which means a much happier player base. Some people will always complain, that's a given. However, I'd be willing to bet about 90% of people complaining about CS2 right now complain about it, because they want it to be better.
