The two copies of this that I’ve had were very different in their cover leather. The first was returned as the cover was a bit misaligned on the text block. The second copy is perfect and a very pronounced grain. Love this big bible!

I've never read the CSB, but that is a very lovely Bible. Looks clear & easy to read for extended time. Not one to carry with you, of course. But looks wonderful for home reading.

Randy, I forgot to ask - do the leathersoft versions of this have the same paper/text block as this handcrafted goatskin...or are they a different paper?

I have both of the VBV and SCWM in bonded leather. It is the same block and pagination as the premium. The VBV has 3 ribbons while the SCWM has only 2. The paper quality appears to be the same GSM.

Hi, how do you compare to Schuyler? I love my Schuyler, but they don't have the CSB. I want this type of paper and leather quality. The readability is perfect, and the size is helpful.

This one compares well to Schuyler. It's maybe one notch under at the most. So if I gave Schuyler a 10, I'd give this a 9 or 9.5.

This is nicely crafted and the layout is very good too. I've not fully warmed to single column Bibles yet, but I may get there. The CSB is a translation of which I have very little acquaintance, but it seems a lot of people love it. The craftsmanship of this Bible very nice. One question though, is this the 2020 CSB test or the 2017? I am aware that it was update in 2020 slightly. I'm a more traditional person, so I still not yet warmed to the and brothers and sisters type reading or having humankind instead of man sort of thing. Maybe of I, I'll give this translation more look. I do like that is has quite a bit of footnotes. All in all, this is a very good Bible.

Thanks! The only other single-columns are the journaling editions and the Filament editions (the single column Filament uses the same layout as the Caxton). There are also a few study Bibles.

Since landing here this afternoon, I've also discovered the NLT Thrive Bible...which looks like a nice women's Bible. @@shuttergirlUK the Filament is practically the same Bible as the Caxton with a few tweaks. The Caxton is a rebound NLT Select. The Filament is that same Bible with a lesser expensive paper, the page number moved to a new location, and the references removed. Everything else is the same. Thrive is sewn. I have a CSB in 10 point with comfort print and references and hi lites In red. Quite readable and legible.

I think the biggest flaw of this Bible is it’s size. This Bible is huge. Why not cut out the wide margin and make it a bit slimmer? 32 gsm perhaps? There is already the CSB VBV which is also pretty large. We need some more medium sized CSB Bibles.

Strange question perhaps, however, I’ve read many reviews about a strange, unpleasant odor on these Bibles. Some say it’s the process used on the leather. Did you notice this at all? Considering it for a present. Overall, it looks like an incredible value for those who enjoy the CSB. Another great review by the way. Greatly appreciate your reviews brother.

Pagination is pretty close between WM and Personal Size (versus Pastor's). The difference is primarily due to some slight changes in Proverbs in the text from 2017 to 2020.

Good question! Both are made and designed well. I'd put the Treveris one notch above because of the higher-quality and more expensive materials. I also like its size. If I was going to highlight and make notes, I'd choose this CSB.

This is a very nice looking Bible inside. One thing I will say, however, is that the Handcrafted logo on the box doesn’t match the aesthetics of the Bible inside at all. The Bible is a normal high-end Bible. The box gives the impression of a more rugged, western-looking Bible. (edit - this doesn't make the Bible worse I just thought it was an odd business choice)

@@claudiabailey5302 It's subjective as always. I guess if I were to describe it, it would be... - Distressed Looking Leather Cover - A slab-serif font like what's in the Cameo or Turquoise. The font in the Cameo is a Clarendon font, a type of font popular during the Old West days for wanted posters, and other posters and signs. - Spine stamping to match the aesthetic To me (a male American), the elegant, graceful Bible on the inside doesn't match a the "Handcrafted" logo, which is big, bold, and loud. The font looks similar to that of "The Mandalorian". That show is a space western. The designs around the logo remind me of Native American geometric designs found in everything but high-end Bibles, including this one. So the branding seemed odd to me. But whatever works for them! I also think the Holman logo looks more like a logo for men's jeans than a Bible logo.

It's not a paraphrase. Do the research. It''s word for word and thought for thought in plain modern American English. Good translation, among several others..

@heshimucolar7174 I said it is more of a paraphrase because the translators clearly stated that it was optimal equivalence. The KJV is formal equivalence, the NIV is dynamic, and the CSB is optimal. Let me restate my words and say that it reads more like a paraphrase. I have studied NT Greek and textual criticism for more than 33 years. Thanks for your comment.
