You can date it by the fact that the court allowed how Cathy dressed as evidence. If you brought that into a rape case today you would be shunned and rightly so

@@royfr8136 yes a drama that was researched highly at the time. Corrie, EE and Emmerdale production teams all make sure that stories that make it to screens are somehow based on reality. Yes it may be dramatised, but some stories, like these ones, the productions go out there way to talk to charities, organisations and other research to make sure that the stories reflect real life. You hear stories all the time of people going to get checked for cancer or mental health issues because they saw it on the programme and it just happened to reflect their IRL circumstances.

You know this storyline came around due to Dens exit. Brown had been a permanent character for 2 or 3 yrs and writers wanted Dens imprisonment to draw sympathy from viewers. It worked out brilliantly.
