thtas how trading in most games work, you make the profit from downgrading, and hope to get a good deal when your upgrading. but its not as simple as that, some items have higher demand so sometimes that profit trade you see may not actually even be that good of a trade.

Aminipotato yeah there’s a couple things like if a Sticker is discontinued from a major, if it was discontinued from an operation like the web stuck holo and gold web foil for example. Capsules from csgo majors are good to as well as some older csgo cases.

5:30 I have not tried trading in CSGO, but I am a TF2 trader, and after 10 or so scammers trying to trick you, you can recognize a pattern in behaviour. Also if you are not sure if a trader you are talking is a scammer or not, just call the trade off. It's not worth the risk.
