Glad you're continuing with the 90s. Watch daily and enjoy. Also feel the 90s was where we started getting huge stints at number one.

Hits by Rod Stewart, The Rolling Stones, Cher, Chicago, Joe Cocker, Billy Joel, Linda Ronstadt, Tom Petty - who would've thought this is how the 90's start?

The mystery has been solved...what an early Christmas present...you are doing the 90s... outstanding!.....Bust a move is STILL in the countdown ( spoiler alert) Principal's office does not have near as long of a run...

Going to be alternating. One day of the 90s, then one of the 70s. Couldn't decide which one, so I decided to do both.

Sounds great...bonus decade ..I'm all in ...

Thank you for continuing this journey into the 90s, my friend!! Correct me if I'm wrong, but Bust A Move is in its 19th straight week in the survey, right?!?! Chicago has the biggest moving song in the countdown this week!! Also, speaking of Young MC, not only did he and Paula Abdul both debut with new hit songs, but they both appeared back to back with their most recent hits!! LMAO

Well it was the first week! 🤪

Sort of like how the 70s seemed to stick around well into 1982.
@derekbrown2215Күн бұрын
@@mjjoe76 Yeah, the 80's didn't really get going until after the "Reagan Recession".

The 90's didn't truly start until Sept. 24 1991. By January 10, 1992, they were in full swing.

1:05 The title track from Babyface's debut. But the two most memorable songs from that album, because they still get airplay on the local Quiet Storm shows, are "Whip Appeal" & "Soon as I get home from work." However, my favorite track from "My Kinda Girl".

I’m sure it’s happened many time before, but this is the first time I’ve seen two different artists (Young MC and Paula Abdul) have back to back songs in the same week’s top 40.

When did vision of love appear on the chart?

spring of '90.

Would you classify „The opposites attract” by Paula Abdul as the 80’s hit or the 90’s hit?
@Charmedone9805Күн бұрын
I’d say it’s more of a 90s hit considering it reached the top of the charts in 1990.
@andytran1603Күн бұрын
Technically 80's since the single and parent album both were released in the 80's but if based on charts, it's 90's.
@stevenbauer4799Күн бұрын
released in '89 so it is an '80's hit.
@kennywong423916 сағат бұрын
Considering the rise and fall of the songs then, the 2020s chart is worse than snail pace. No wonder already 2 songs topping the chart for 19 weeks with movements like that.
@molinalong3468Күн бұрын
Upcoming songs in Vision of love by Mariah Carey ( her first song ) Hold on by Wilson Phillips ( their first song) Hold on by en Vogue ( their first song) Ice ice baby by vanilla ice ( his first song ) U touch this by Mac hammer ( his first song in American top 40 ) Step by step by new kids on the block

Enjoy '90-'91. Its all downhill after that as rap/hop hop industry fed shit take over in '92.
@BudSchnelkerКүн бұрын
Good lord, hearing those two Paula Abdul songs back to back really exposes how little creativity went into them. They're the same song! When you compare this top 40 to one from 5-7 years earlier it's embarrassing how much the quality of the music has fallen off.
@derekbrown2215Күн бұрын
Yeah this wasn't a great era for pop.
@stevenbauer4799Күн бұрын
Then perhaps don't fkn click into these countdowns anymore if they bother you so much. Or perhaps listen to post 2000's and todays superfiscal unimaginative non creative copy cat industry fed fake crap. That may better suit you. And no creativity? abdul choreographed and did her own dance moves in those videos/songs made specifically for that. And probably better than you could ever do so no those songs did not lack creativity.
