This has to be the best 8ball match I've ever watched! Absolutely perfect pool! No missed shots! No safes! Just great pool playing by both opponents!
@gambloduck66336 жыл бұрын
That was the most focused match I've ever seen. The recovery that Roberts put together to combo his way back in line was just nerves of steel. A shame that a kicked in cue ball played the only factor in Mr. Roberts' loss (other than the lag). If you don't like this kinda pool , just stop watching. What an awesome display of precision and focus!

great match but shane used a racking pattern that isn't allowed anymore that's why the striped balls were stuck together by the spot. shane started the racking pattern from the 6th game til the end of the match . still impressive cause you still have to pocket the balls. for those who dont understand what pattern racking is . when you rack you place either the stripes or the solids on the outer portion of the rack. when you do this most of the same group of balls stay around the spot grouped together. now it is not allowed because it gives you an unfair advantage. Corey duel mastered this technique and is why it is not allowed to be done anymore.

@tommaroney85447 жыл бұрын
GlenGlenervo The magic rack makes the balls stay together in the rack... One one hand this is good because obviously it makes the rack the same every time. On the other hand, using a normal triangle rack would be more exciting for the audience as the players would have to adjust their break. Shane can adjust his break really well, in the world cup and the Masters he showed a good example of ajusting his break depending on the rack layout.
@coryfrench59407 жыл бұрын
That rack is the dumbest thing ever. It causes so much interference to the game. It chances the direction of the ball when it rolls across it, and they are always having to stop the flow of the game after the break. That rack sucks.

Shane put another ball other than the 1 up front with one of his breaks. Is that acceptable?

So the player that display the highest degree of skill may as well come lag and go back... As further on it would all be break and run... Whil the players a notch below would still swap a few breaks and the result wold not just be dependent upon a single strike of the cue? The second category of players have a better chance to beat the other player based upon their skill, while the most skilled have no chance use skill to beat the other guy, based on skill... SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE!!

Josh's kick scratch on the 8th game break sucked. Looked like he was controlling the rock pretty well on that break, too. Was going to end up close to the long center otherwise (no where NEAR the side pocket, as the announcer stated), they contacted about where the foot spot would be if there were one, not absolute center table, but in NO WAY an error of any kind. Shame to have perfect game streak (for both, to that point) ruined by that, but "that's pool" folks. ;-(

You would think that they would prevent them from pattern racking...I take it it's 1 ball first...8 middle...and opposite balls on bottom corner and that's it.. although they are making the game look easy it's because they are cheating in my opinion...just look how deliberate Shane is when racking 31:55-32:10...it's not the way the game was intended to be played... loophole in the system being exploited...I would like to see them break with the balls racked randomly and break and run back and forth like they did...is it possible..yes...but much more difficult... you would get called out at the bar for racking like they are... sponsors ok with this obviously because it is more entertaining to those that don't know what is going on with the racking...horsecrap

In no way am I demeaning Shane. But a few years before at the Bar Table Championship in Reno a player (who will go unnamed) racked the balls the way Shane was and in the his next match he was stopped from racking the 4th row with all one color. Now Shane racked the same ways every rack. If he had a stripe as the head ball then the 4th row was all solids and visa versa. What I am saying is you ought to be able to rack the balls any way you want to without regard to the ridiculous rule of no pattern racking. Most players could rack exactly as Shane did and never run 8 racks!! And don't kid yourself many Pros do rack in patterns, so lets do away with the rule. YOU STILL HAVE TO PUT THE BALLS IN THE HOLE.
