At 8 minutes 14 seconds Shane discreetly moves chalk on table for a visual aid to make his kick shot. Watch where the cue ball hits the rail. Super easy to split the difference on this one and move the calk in an instance, though he looks like he is putting time into it. Pretty sure visual aids are against the rules even if they are table chalk.

It is really hard to win against SVB. Once SVB messes up a shot, his comeback in the next round will be such a massive one that the opponent won't even get a chance to pot a ball. Can never get bored watching SVB play.

On that 10th rack, anyone else see how that ball rack triangle stopped the 8 ball from moving? Thats y i dnt like those racks. There may not be a high chance of that happening but as we saw, it happens. Im surprised theres no rule for when that happens or something. They didnt even acknowledge it

Is marking the rail with your chalk illegal in this tournament? SVB clearly moves his chalk right to the spot where he wants to hit without needing to move it as he wasn't on that side of the table. I would hate to see this for his reputation, would love to know the rules for this tourney.

Why are they using 7ft tables instead of 9 ft? English size tables with American pockets is just far too easy for an open tournament, especially with professionals playing in it
@alphacapo5 жыл бұрын
8 ball on a seven footer has different challenges than a 9 footer. Balls are congested on a 7 foot table. 9 foot table you have room to move. yea the shots are longer but you have space to move and play shape. I wouldn't say its any easier on a 7 for players of this caliber. Just different.

It's actually not a bar table. It is not a full-size 9-footer either, but it is actually an 8-foot table, or thereabouts. Overall, shots may be a bit shorter; but, in turn, position has to be played with more precision. Also, it is easier for balls to get tied up and clumped together. Just because it is a smaller table doesn't necessarily mean that the game will be easier; just a little different.

Drew you keep saying that, but you're wrong. Check the stats if you want, but there were far more break and runs during this tournament and the USBTC than there were at the US Open 9-ball on the big tables.

Drew Binkley the 8-ball numbers would also be way higher, Sir. Ask SVB if his life depended on a break and run which table he’d prefer. I know my answer!
@exyid87446 жыл бұрын
as someone who plays consistently on 9ft tables and 7ft tables, I can tell you that 7ft 8ball is not easy. there are much more carem, kick, 2 rail situations, and playing position with the cue ball where you're going around 4 rails to hit a 4" window. to each their own. but I can see how the higher use of English, banks, and ball breakouts in bar table can be more interesting to watch than prescise angles constant safeties.
@georgeowen2083 Жыл бұрын
Stupid rule that they spot the 8ball. It should be an automatic win.
