You must not use it hard. It's impossible for a knife blade to hold an edge for YEARS. Even under regular use. What do you cut envelopes with it?

I have been a Cold Steel fan since the 80s when one of my business instructors at Ventura College was involved with Cold Steel. I started carrying a Tanto in the 80s all into Desert Shield/Storm and into GWOT. I gifted it to a Marine going into Iraq. It served me well. After he died in combat I never found out the disposition of the tanto.

I just got this knife. It certainly is impressive. Huge and very cool looking (like a really mean balisong blade) chunk of S35VN. I just wish that it was more weak hand backup weapon carry friendly. I understand how the handle and lock design prevent a right side thumb stud but at least the pocket drag/wave tab can be used as a front flipper for left hand blade deployment. However, a left side pocket clip mounting position is thoroughly missed. Also, the pivot washers feel like nylon. They really should've gone with phosphor bronze for this spruced up version!

Very nice knife. I have several versions of the original Ti-lite. I've been buying from Cold Steel since the 80's. They paved the way for tough, & high performance knifes. New knife companies with new designs & locking systems are getting better. But Cold Steel makes reliable & strong knifes.

To Lynn it’s a knife, a weapon, a tool. Stickman? It’s a “unit”…PLEASE STOP saying that! Call it a knife, a can opener, anything but a unit, makes it seem like simply another commercial product to be inventoried and sold. To Lynn Thompson it was HIS LIFE. Still loving Cold Steel, even bought stuff since the buy out but don’t make it any harder than it needs to be. I’m no marketing genius (gotta admit the stunning young woman was genius) but when talking to Cold Steel fans, these are KNIVES.
@snickersnee15 Жыл бұрын
But it's an absolute unit. Duh.
@redfaux74 Жыл бұрын
I'm not a fan of Stick or the young blonde. She'll lose fingers one day. You can't play with thick heavy razors like they're make up accessories or hair brushes. But Lynn....I love that man. He knows what we want. He made Cold Steel what it is. I have over 100 pieces of CS easily and at least 50 of them are blades of some kind. For 30 years I've EDCed the Vaquero Grande 6 inch serrated folder in my right pocket. In March of 2020 I added the Rajah ll to EDC in my left. I was hurt when Lynn said he was selling. It was just awesome to see Lynn in this video.
@adrianfytr3511 ай бұрын
I knew about Cold Steel then forgot about them for twenty years. I was shopping around for a new pocket knife and after getting distracted and wondering about swords I remembered Cold Steel. I'm so glad I did . Now I have five CS pieces, two folder and three fixed blades. This is within the last nine months. I have no interest in getting any other brands. Unfortunately I'm late to the party but on the bright side I went into a gun store here in Texas and they have a bunch of old school CS knives! I'm not so sure about the direction of the company. That new Mayhem knife, who is that for exactly? The whole reason I am so glad I remembered about CS is because of it's martial arts and historical weapons "roots" for lack of a better word. That Mayhem looks like a gas station knife, in my humble biased opinion. I've found a very good use for my serrated Kobun as a duct knife, and my Mini Recon and SR1 lite get used on a daily basis for cutting cardboard, plastic, zip ties, insulation, and any other materials I can use them on. I used my Recon Tanto to trim the brisket I made this weekend (it worked so good especially the secondary edge). I'm afraid the martial spirit left with Mr. Thompson.
@redfaux7411 ай бұрын
@adrianfytr35 - 100% agreed. With Stick, it's about a cool factor that I cringe when he pretends to have. I agree with your assessment on the Mayhem also. It looks like a knife you can get on those late night TV shows 7 for $35. No thanks. Stick has no clue what Cold Steel means to us. I'm so upset that I never got my dream weapon before it was too late, the nodachi. Even tho I'm upset with Lynn for selling.... I'm hoping he's making fat money from this goof.
@adrianfytr3511 ай бұрын
@@redfaux74 I'll check out what a nodachi is. I used to love looking at martial arts weapons, it'll be cool to see ones I've never seen before. I'll continue to buy CS knives because I still like the existing models. Actually I have a Kobun with the straight edge on the way as of yesterday lol. I want to get as many of their existing models as I can because who knows what's gonna happen in the future. Not interested in that Mayhem or that chopper they came out with though. Those designs do not look like they were inspired by anything at all except other ordinary knives sold on Amazon. I prefer my knives be equal part tool and weapon lol. I am a martial artist, Cold Steel was started by a martial artist, so I'll always have that bias for their knives haha. My next goal is a Voyager XL with a Tanto tip 👍🇺🇸. I'm totally addicted to collecting and using Cold Steel knives 🔪🗡️ Oh, I dont mind Keith Beam, but he's no Lynn Thompson.

Tip of the day: If you’re budget oriented? Buy two 6” zytel ti-ltes!!! 😁❤️ The zytel handles are cheaper but hide scratches better 😊 which means you can practice opening two 6” ti-lites, at the same time, by striking the quillions together 😍 and adjusting the blade nuts to match the friction needed to open. 😋🤫
