After doing a Kumi braid without beads, I usually drag and gently pull along the length of the braid to release tension, elongate the braid and better reveal the pattern. Is this advisable with beads before knotting off the ends? Thanks!

Hey, sorry to ask even more questions. Somebody I know wants me to make some kumihimo bracelets for her, but I want these to be perfect. The only issue is that I don't know what size ends I have to get. I got s lon cord that is 0.5 mm. Can you tell me what size would fit the best on a 8 strand braid with that size cord?
@ilvwhls
@ilvwhls 3 жыл бұрын
half of mine came out twisted then a part of it looked like it should and then started twisting again. I have added weight to the middle and to the bobbins to help with tension, in case that was my issue. I have made several necklaces and bracelets with Kumihimo. This is just odd. I have used all size 8 seed beads.

Cindy Brook The S-lon that I used for this specific bracelet is s-lon tex 135. I use that for most of my beaded kumihimo pieces as it fits through most beads and is very strong. And you certainly can use smaller beads. As long as your cord will fit through the beads. I have actually made some pieces using smaller seed beads and have a tutorial coming up soon where I use smaller beads :-)

How do you calculate how many beads per bobbin (8 bobbins, 8/0 beads). I tried one equation and I came out with an outrageous number.
@CSLdesigns
@CSLdesigns 9 жыл бұрын
+Ellen Algava I don't really calculate mine. I just kind of do it as I go. I'll put a certain amount of beads on that I think might be rigt, and then if it's not enough when I've used them up, I'll just add some more or if it's too many I'll just not use them all, but the more you do you will eventually learn how many beads to use of a certain size to get the final size bracelet you want :-)

Angie Coward It depends on the materials you are using and the size you need your bracelet to be. But for this bracelet where I used 4mm beads I used about 30-32 beads on each strand and that creates an average bracelet of 7-7.5 inch, so that can give you an idea. I hope that helped :-)
