Dr Sebastian Brock, a British scholar and expert in the field of Syriac Language and Syriac Christianity, explores what constitutes the Spirituality of our Church, at the Second Eparchial Gathering of the Syro Malabar Eparchy of Great Britain. The Syro-Malabar tradition constitutes part of the circle which he calls the Syriac Orient, but over the course of time it has acquired an overlap, in particular with the Latin Catholic tradition. In this presentation, he outlines the ‘rootstock’ of the tradition of Syriac spirituality and the main resources which constitute the Syriac spiritual tradition. In this video, he also explores some prominent themes which seem to be characteristic of Syriac spirituality.
