Yamaha Clavinova is a well-known name when it comes to digital pianos, but many may not know that there are different series under this name and what the differences between these are.
The CVP series are incredibly versatile instruments, as they carry many features of a keyboard while still having the feel of a real piano. Include many backing styles built into the piano, you can play along with your very own backing band and direct when they start, stop add drum-fills, etc. There are also songs built-in with professionally arranged accompaniments and you can even plug in a microphone and sing along with on-screen lyrics for karaoke.
CSP stands for “Clavinova Smart Piano”. This series includes many features of the coveted CVP, including backing styles and built-in songs, but instead of controlling these using buttons on the piano and a built-in screen, everything can be controlled via a tablet on the Smart Pianist app. Removing the need for buttons means that they have a very clean, slick look without compromising on functionality. Another “Smart” feature of the CSP series is the Stream Lights function for education.
