Hello and thanks for the video! My CSP-295B is on the road!! Only one question if you know. Could I use MIDI files on this instrument (piano pieces) to show the interactive score on the smartpianist app and (very important) to enable it use the streamlights for those external MIDI files? Would the 4 red - blue leds of each piano key moving for those pieces? Or streamlights are available only for specific songs of smartpianist and flowkey? Thanks again🎉

The CLP-885 is around the corner and I’d love to see a comparison against the 785.

The host missed a difference in the sound between Yamaha CLP-785 and CSP-295 in his explanation, so I would like to explain it to you. The built-in sound of Yamaha CLP-785 includes four Fortepianos specially sampled from the Hamamatsu Musical Instrument Museum in Japan, while the sound list of CSP-295 does not include Fortepiano; the harpsichord sound in the sound list of CSP-295 is compared with CLP-785, which has the sound of the second manual keyboard of the harpsichord, while CLP-785 only has the sound of 8' and 8'+4' of the single manual keyboard.

Too much information squashed in a single sentence. Use more full stops instead of commas and semi-colons! The last sentence looks as if you are comparing CLP … with CLP. „Fortepianos specially sampled from the Hamamatsu Musical Instrument Museum in Japan”- why don’t you mention directly: “CLP misses Cristofori, Mozart and Chopin piano voices? “Manual keyboard”? Why complicate? Has anybody heard of a non- manual keyboard? “First (missing), “second manual - what does it mean? Manual is a booklet you get with an instrument. Keyboards should be compared on the grounds of the touch feel and number of keys, not inches, which do not tell much.

Get comparison video. I can't believe how affordable these instruments are!!

I think the really big difference comes at the end of the video. But I am not sure.

Chris has not explained why is CSP heavier and bulkier than CLP. Today, extra electronics does not take so much space and weight.

Basically, what this ended up saying is that unless you have a fairly narrow view of what you want from your digital piano, get the CSP-295 if you can afford the ~£1,000 difference. But then, the only thing I can think of that the CLP has the CSP doesn't are those 4 early piano sounds that's only on the CLP. Can we have a CSP-295 vs CVP-905 video? The price difference in your site is ~£700, which is more than in some other regions. In fact, in Hong Kong, there's *no price difference* (both are HK$33-34K). But more important, there are some tradeoffs between the two models that would make it an interesting comparison.

When will Yamaha update the CLP? They are too late
@ePianoscouk8 ай бұрын
Hi @mazica_art2630, Great question! Historically, Yamaha updates the CLP models every 3-4 years. The CLP-785 was launched in 2017, so we are indeed overdue for an update. However, COVID-19 and global supply chain issues have delayed many releases, including Yamaha's Genos workstation. Unfortunately, no one knows for sure when the CLP-785 will be replaced. Despite this, the CLP-785 remains a top-notch traditional-style digital piano, continuing to offer excellent quality and performance. Why would you buy 785? Clearly something is missing here.

The 295 is much better regards learning piano features, has auto accompaniment like the PSR range and a vast number of extra voices, many of the super articulated voices taken from the CVP range. However if you're already at a decent level and mainly focussed on just piano voices then you can save yourself £600 by choosing the 785 (now recently updated by the 885).
