Learn about the school with no name from its former teacher Stacey Bess, author of "Nobody Don't Love Nobody." In the late 1970's, Stacey Bess was excited to have received her first teaching job after recently graduating from the University of Utah with a degree in elementary education. Her classroom turned out to be a 12x12 shed behind a community homeless shelter in Salt Lake City. She was hired to teach K-6th grade, however, she was told whatever child walked in, she was required to teach them. For the next eleven years she would become their educator, advocate, and for some, the one few constants they had in the young lives. "Nobody Don't Love Nobody" tells the story of Stacey Bess' journey, the students she got to know, and addresses the misconceptions that people have about homelessness and poverty.
