I have a dust jacketed hardcover edition of To Kill a Mockingbird which is a 21st impression as printed on the copyright page. However the copyright date is 1960, not 1962.

Book people are movie directors as they imagine what they are reading, whereas the audience is yourself

Other than the copyright year is there any other way we can tell that a book is really the very first edition printed? And does the first edition always has to be the most valuable or it doesn't always has to be?

First editions aren't always the most valuable. It depends on the history and availability of the item in question. Most of the time First Editions tend to maintain the most value, but if you came across a rare book, where something happened of historical significance to its second edition, it might feasibly maintain a higher value than the first. Collecting rare books, you have to pay attention not only to the time a book might have been released, but the history surrounding it, the impact it has had on society and its availability in good condition.

There's no discovering anything in this shop. One has only to navigate the clutter and hope something doesn't fall on them. Now if your into seances that have local appointees to the position of sheriff as a way of consumating such nefarious practices then SLC is the place for you.
