Learn about the Teapot Dome Scandal and its tie to Casper, Wyoming. Historian Phil Roberts talks about the history of the scandal that happened in the 1920s during Warren G. Harding’s administration and how Secretary of the Interior Albert Fall was involved. The Teapot Dome Scandal involved the leasing out of federally protected land to privately owned oil companies in exchange for gifts. We learn about two Wyomingites’ role in the scandal and the impact it had on future oil production.

Clear exposition. I am left wondering if the Dept of Interior in 1921-23 did other favors for Oil Industry, namely keeping royalties low by finding the properties leased were wild-cat new areas, by no competitive bids, by not enforcing due dilligence requirements under 1920 law... Anyone know?
