It would've been worth mentioning that Harding died before the scandal exploded in the media. This was a thumbnail sketch about events that merited more depth and detail.

It’s the fact that they were using women as exchangeable goods, like booze and even money in a way that was unethical and then lying about it under oath. I see where you’re pointing and THAT GUY was impeached for committing perjury, NOT for getting some puney.

I don't know how I feel about judging a president by the actions of other people in his cabinet. I guess one could argue, if he put corrupt people around him, then he is also corrupt, or can at least be influenced to engage in similar behavior. But, still Harding is known for doing some great things as president.

The historical consensus believes that Harding was aware of Fall's actions and was complicit in some kind of cover-up or protection of Fall.

This was just one of the more clear examples of a president who was the mere sock puppet of the rich, extraordinarily corrupt group that put him in office. A simpleton with enough scandal in his past to make it easy for his handlers to keep him in line and the money flowing their way. There have been plenty of them. I judge them harshly with no hesitation.

Now they have public relations advisors. Diogenes is still looking for an honest man. I am willing to accept that some persons in power may begin careers with ideals I can appreciate, but political life requires compromise and that's when the problems can arise.....and then there are those who will tell any lie and smile in any direction if it leads to power. If your old enough to remember the movies Elmer Gantry or All the King's Men or even Keeper of the Light you'll get a notion of the problem personalities . Or just read some of our newspapers' descriptions of the " wannabees" and " have beens" of politics.

What so striking about the scandal, is that from the get go, Harding was nominated for the express purpose of obtaining these oil reserves for Sinclair; this was not a scandal that unfolded as his administration progressed, obtaining those massive oil preserves was the sole purpose of the Harding administration.

The sole purpose of the G W Bush presidency could easily have been Halliburton's no-bid war on terror contracts & the greed of the oil industry- VP Cheney received an unearned 81 million pension as a thank you. Then there was the Reagan campaign making a deal with Iran to hold our citizens hostage longer in exchange for armaments after the election. Dirty tricks abound. To a really disgusting degree.

As those in the Obama Administration. What the hell was CHINA paying Biden’s son a Billion Dollars for!? What the hell!!!? Thats excluding the Russian kick backs Hillary got. During the Uranium One scam. Don’t think we forgot about that crooked Hag!

@@lisaroberts8556 cool story. It's all bullshit but it sounds cool in dim witted shit for brained MAGA-land lol. Meanwhile in the real world the Trump administration has a total of about 80 indictments against them. The Trump Foundation, a charitable organization was forced to disband because it stole money for Trump's personal gain. Let's not forget Trump University, another disbanded Trump entity because it was a FRAUD! Meanwhile in 8 years the Obama administration has no indictments against them. The Trump administration will ironically go down in history as one of the Swampiest & most corrupt in American history except in the mind of MAGA cultist who feed off of the lies & bullshit from their pathologically lying cult leader. Now go ingest some disinfectant or Hydroxychloroquine & stay off my comment dummy
