Thankyou for the explanation, component part, and the pdf document :) Here's all the answer from the video, so you don't need to find it one by one on the video. 1. 562.80 grams 2. Thank you for the great video! I have struggled to find practice material for these exams. I just took mine and passed. I wanted to leave a comment for the people who are preparing to take this exam. I will say I think my exam was more difficult as it had 14 questions with 80 min; however, the exam format might have changed in 5 years. Try to study all of the advanced and mechanical mates (I had a question where i had to use a gear mate and a path mate). Also, my exam did not have any modeling like his practice tests do.

at 18 minutes you can also use the mechanical mates "slot mate" and have it free in slot. its better than point on plane becouse that can move out of the slot.

Dear sir, can you do me a favor? i have done exactly every step that you did, but i can't get the angle while collision like you-35,79 degrees (23:57 in video). At first i got 35,82 degrees, another time i got 35,87 degrees. Please tell me how to fix that and is there a limit of tolerance with the measurement angle in the cswp test?
@nikolasvilar40165 жыл бұрын
I used SW2014 Premium in this video, and you are probably using newer version, so I guess it can be a reason for slightely different results due to some calculation differences in software. It is strange that you get two different results, try to slow down mouse pointer before collision to give software enough time to calculate everything. So try to find unique answer for your model. Differences between your(35.82) and mine, don't sound too big for me, but I really have no idea what are tolerances in the cswp test

Hi Huy. I also get that sometimes. I figured most of the times it is unit decimal error. make sure it it set to 2 decimal points. aslo if u r using 32 bit version of solidworks instead of 64 bit, u will get slightly different values.

I noticed when you made the base it does not look exactly like the drawing when viewing from the top plane. I could be wrong but i believe you're meant to cut a small surface out of the circle before you create the arms

nevermind i watched you correct the error

Unsure how to do the distance mate at 18:25
@davidrichards45914 жыл бұрын
you need to make a reference point or axis on the center hole of the arm. You can also just select "view temporary axes" under the show/hide feature and use that axes.

Thank you. This is the most effective tutorial for cswp assembly section.

Instead of using the origin at the centre of the arm, you can also use the centre of mass! Cheers!
@nikolasvilar40168 жыл бұрын
You are right, that's interesting idea. It's also possible to make one reference point and use it instead. Cheers!

Great video. I just have one question, the 8mm offset that is 6x6 is 3mm from the top of the leg and not centered in the drawing. (If it is centered it will be 2mm from the top of the leg.) Is this a mistake in the drawing too? Thanks again!
@nikolasvilar40165 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback! Not sure if I completely understand your question but the 6×6 segment is 2mm from the top of leg(and 3mm from the center of leg) and is centered, so I done that exactly the same as it is shown in pdf, I consider that as correct

Hi Nikola Thanks for doing a great video. I followed this via the GrabCAD link and the file "Base_B" in this video is different from the one supplied via GrabCAD? Am I missing something?
@nikolasvilar40167 жыл бұрын
Hi Wayne, I am glad you liked the video.Yes, you are right. At the first glance it looks the same, so I have never noticed any difference. But, for some reason, dimensions in the file from GrabCad are incorrect, so you will have to model the part by yourself. On the other hand, If I remember correctly, already modeled, original parts that you just insert in assembly, are OK.

I spent one hour to find a mistake in my model from question 1 relative to the wrong value Z for the Center of mass in question 2. Now you telling me that PDF is wrong. Wondering why like that if that is the official sample? Anyhow, tomorrow is my test day so wish me a bit of luck. Thanks
