I found this video VERY informative even after 15 years of Solidworks experience. Thank you. btw, Did you add the "Asterix" (instead of asterisk) just to see if we are paying attention? (The cartoon character)

I wish there were an option to open the assembly that you doing a Pack and Go" feature on. I have to use this feature constantly and its a drag to have to go though all of the files to open where it went. Kinda like the "Save As and Open" feature.

thanks for sharing this video.i have a question:it's possible ,with the "ctrl+drag" to insert one unlinked copy of component in my assembly? thank you
@stephenpetrock44203 жыл бұрын
Luca Tofano your welcome! Unfortunately what you’re asking for isn’t really how it works for SOLIDWORKS. In an assembly each copy is an instance of file. An unlinked copy would need to be a separate file
@lucatofano44633 жыл бұрын
@@stephenpetrock4420 thank you.ie should I make a copy of the same file and insert it as a new component? what I would like to do is insert a copy of the same component but make small changes without being reported on the original ... (I hope I explained myself). how can I do?
@user-hz7il9cz6f2 жыл бұрын
You can save this part in a different name and make changes and import to assambley

Good day sir. What is the difference between reload and Control+Z which is undo?
@stephenpetrock44202 жыл бұрын
Good question. Control+Z will undo the most recent command. So it’s one at a time in order. Reload is different in that it discards any changes and goes back to the state saved to your computer. Think of it as undoing everything all at once

On tip number 40, i do not see the Biad. I looked for a option to turn it on but aa search does not bring it up
@stephenpetrock44203 жыл бұрын
I made up the name so it won’t come up in SOLIDWORKS Documentation. You can activate it only by following the click sequence- line segment and then end point. Hope that helps!
@nieljones6553 жыл бұрын
@@stephenpetrock4420 Thanks, that worked. i had to move the mouse around a bit to get the correct line to change color for selection.
