That is the correct orientation for the copper washers and domed nuts. The story as I understand it is that those two cylinder bolts (top left and bottom right) act as oil pathways up to the top end.

Thanks so much for the videos, they are a great resource. I just got a cylinder kit from Lambda, and it came with the metal head gasket that you’re using on this engine. My engine had the factory gasket with the two rubber o rings between the head and the cylinder. Can you tell me, if I use the metal head gasket, I don’t need those rubber o rings?
