Merci.

Remembering our beloved brother Patrick, one of the best jazz piano player of Mauritius. I was so proud to hear him perform so beautifully Remembering. I did not realize he was so much in pain, not even he was so sick at that time. He passed away too early at 58 leaving us with the memory of his magic notes. Patrick was a real fan of Avishai.

I needed this... Maybe because I'm feelings like this but This redundancy of the piano chords, like waves washing endlessly on the beach, along with the drums creating the sereine atmosphere, the bass bringing the protagonist, always evolving and progressing to a new self, discovering other abilities,... All this helps me to reinforce my thoughts on what I have to do right now, that even if the majority doesn't accept myself I'll find a way to carve my own path and hopefully other people will join my endless chords washing and we'll create new songs altogether with our own identities

Avishai Cohen is simply amazing! I accidentally found his music while listening to Pandora Radio online; I think the song that was playing at the time was called "Arava." After listening to this song, I immediately logged onto youtube to see if there were any songs or videos by him. Sure enough there are lot's of song and videos of him! I was listening to Kyle Eastwood at the time and Avishai Cohen's music was next on the play list! I like Kyle but Avishai is my new favorite bassist!

People who like Avashai would also like Bojan Z. He is for sure one of the most talented european jazz pianist. His works stand out because he can truly and naturaly express Balkan sevdalinka, alongside oriental tunes, and many other styles in a contemporery frame. You should check out "grana od bora", "mashala", and "zajdi zajdi" ... cant stop counting ... but you have to promise not to give in of pure joy.
