I have gone through 2 open heart surgery and the word that God has spoken thru you has been so uplifting. I am encouraged. Thank you. Im 38 yo, I have failed at the start of ministry, stepped down, and 3years later still trying to think if Im worthy for ministry. Fighting the good fight is hard right now, so I appreciate this. I had the opportunity to meet you brother CT back in Mar2022 at VBC. As a young up coming preacher you have no idea how much I needed a podcast like this. Thank you pastor CT for your leadership. Pastors don’t take newly called preachers under their wing the way they used to and you are flat out doing it for all of us!

I listened to this today. Hoping to get a nugget to hold on too. I’m a pastors wife. Been losing hope and really struggling the last year or so. We have been in ministry about 15 years. At our first church Maybe 2 years God called us out of there to our now present church. We are a small country independent not fundamental baptist church traditional KJV. Believe and agree with you on things. This was a family church if you know what I mean when we came. God moved us from the country to town about 6 years ago. That itself is a grand story and all Gods doing. Since moving in town we had hoped that would build the church. We have seen many saved and come and go throughout the years. God has showed up every time. He is good and faithful. Covid done a number on is as did it on most churches. We just haven’t bounced back. Since we are back to mostly the original congregation (family again if you know what I mean 😊) traditions and all that. My spirit is down because it the same people that have been in church 60+ years. Know the Bible inside and out. But don’t have an amen or a shout or a praise in them. Want to meet and greet Sunday AM PM and Wednesday and fellowship but don’t have a serving or worshiping bone in their body. I just can’t go on with this lukewarm atmosphere. I need some life. So here goes the catch. I am the Pastors wife. Not the Pastor. I am not called and my husband doesn’t feel he’s being called to leave. I’m trying to fight it but can’t hardly get out of bed to go to church. My soul is disheartened. Please pray for me. I watch Victory services all the time and your church and ministry are needed for both me and my husband We watched you through COVID when we weren’t having church. We have followed you for many years. And wished we lived closer and could be there. I have often thought of reaching out to Sister Becky and just asking her what she would do if she was me and I heard a sermon this week about how she got down after her Mom died and I felt her pain and struggling. My death is the church body. Their dead!

Please don't take this the wrong way, this is strictly out of love. I do believe God put us in certain places that will help us grow and be the child his wants us to be, although your not feeling the spirit at your church it may not be about you, even if one person's life is changed it makes it worth it. If you want more excitement than be the one the gets up and gives God the praise he deserves and if your doing it from the heart and from love then you may be surprised how many others will feel the Holy Spirit and start a fire for God in your church, especially since your husband is their leader, your looked at as the first lady of church and you have more influence on congregation than you realize, just make sure you pray and use that role to serve God and not serve yourself. I personally have got stuck in spiritual down times and felt like I was not getting the feeding I needed but it wasn't were I was, it was my insecurities and personal struggles that was holding me back, not my brothers and sisters in Christ. Praying for you.

One question I have as a young pastor is, in the generation we’re living in does soul winning still work? I mean the old fashioned door to door, door knocking?

well evidently the mormons and jehovahs witnesses must have some success in reeling people in, and while they are cults with no truth, it does mean that there are some broken lonely, searching people out there. at the end of the day, the best soul winning is building relationships with people, neighbors and family, be a light, be clear and let God do His thing. door to door is not out of the question tho. a church in a rural area i know about, was only having about 80 in attendance, they decided to go door to door to every house within a 7 miles radius of the church. they have doubled their attendance. the biggest problem they had was that many some adults would not go to church, but they didnt mind if their children went, so the church had to find a way to get those kids to church. just be faithful, listen to Hos voice. one man may reach thousands and another may reach only one person, then THAT person reaches a thousand. do what God has called u to do, stay humble and trust Him little brother!
