There are C3 compatible batteries now on ebay available at 5 AH and 6 AH. I bought two 5 AH batteries. So far so good.

I would have liked to seen an actual load test comparison done on both fully charged batteries. Everything shown was pretty much just a visual comparison.

The aftermarket 1 also have 5 years warranty , I’m thinking to get 1 on eBay , my craftsman battery 1 of them won’t charge anymore

Enerup, Biswaye, Lasica, Batteriol, and others all look the same and prices are all comparable. Seems like a crap shoot to me as to which one performs better

co worker bought the ebay ones,, junk. on an impact the 6.0's only loosen off 4 wheel bolts . Old worn Craftsman still work better .

@@ctuan13 I rode the C3 tools from the beginning to the end even loading up on batts in late 2018 as they disappeared... So, now my original batts are going bad and you CANNOT get them anymore. What is the long term assessment of the energup batteries? I'm trying to figure out which brand to go with...

@@Redfour5 I feel that. I just have a few tools from the C3 line including a half inch impact, the LED light and a drill driver. I was so happy with their performance and value, I even found a brand new bare-tool deal on another impact as a backup when mine inevitably dies. To address your question about these batteries and longevity, they're all pretty similar. The loss of the in handle power indicator light is unfortunate, but I've yet to see any aftermarket battery equipped with the stem LED, just the gauge up front. As for performance and longevity, mine have been great. I put them through I'd say average moderate use. The key really is the quality of the cells used. As you saw in my teardown, the cells are pretty good quality. But obviously that's impossible to determine by just scouring an amazon product page. My advice is to find a well rated battery and carefully inspect the reviews for fake reviews. If the reviews seem legit, then sort the reviews by newest (this ensures you are still getting an accurate view of customer satisfaction and that they havent changed the cells they're using recently) and if the reviews still arent reporting poor function or run-time, you're probably good. But still, if you feel so inclined, taking a quick peek inside to double check the cells never hurts and with Amazon's return policy, getting your money back shouldn't be an issue. Hope this helps!

That's because the newer Lithium Ion batteries require a different charge cycle, and the old chargers either charge them poorly, or cause damage. There are smart chargers that will charge both NiMH and LION battery types, automatically selecting the proper charge profile for the battery type inserted. I have found the best way to get a LION charger is to buy a combo with LION battery included. You get a battery, charger, and a tool for less than the cost of a separate battery and charger.

@@tomcolby5802 thanks for the info, I actually bought a combo or what they call multi chemistry charger that takes both, the new batteries have great power, my impact driver works perfectly, before I had to check with a tire iron to make sure the bolts were good and tight, now I can't tighten any further than the tool tightens

Batteries are such a rip off. A battery could be produced that would last indefinitely but there is no money in anything that lasts.
