I stayed at the riu palace Mexico (playa dl Carmen area) in December 2023 and was surprised that there were no bath robes in the junior suite room. I asked at the front desk and they said they were all out!? I hope this isn’t a new add-on for elite only. I’m going again in April (my 8th stay here) and will see if this is a new trend or not. I’ve stayed at riu palace Cabo 3 times in the past and absolutely adore that view. My room view was of the Santa Fe next door 😊, but it’s not big deal to walk down and take in the Lands End view.

Hi Bruce! When I did my site inspection at Riu Palace Baja California before checking in, we toured this Elite Club room and that's when the sales director confirmed that robes are available only if you book Elite or if you book a regular room, you can call & ask for one from room service. Slippers are the only thing that is just for Elite Club guests. I loved how spacious the rooms were at Riu Palace Baja, but I preferred the view and the pool & drink areas at Riu Palace Cabo. Interesting, the elite rooms don’t have the Rum. I’m arum drinker, I would have them replace Gin for Rum. View is great. Great video. Thanks

How strong is the diffuser ..super worried if I would get a headache from the aromatherapy

Hi Chloe! It just smelled fresh in the room but it wasn't overwhelming like some places can be! I think housekeeping sprays the room each day - it's not like one of those awful 'air fresheners' the feel like you've been perfume-bombed! Also, if you don't like it, you could simply request that they don't use it - problem solved!

@@carolinenewsted1571 It depends on the restaurant but mostly it was dress shorts and collared shirts for me. I think there was one restaurant that required long pants but you can verify this by downloading the Riu App and checking each restaurant's requirements (plus you can see the menu!). Upgrading to Elite would be based on availability. So, for example, if you booked a gardenview room and wanted Oceanview, same situation. Book a regular room and want to upgrade to Elite? If it's available, you can pay for the upgrade, but best to book ahead to avoid disappointment.

Hi Bernice! You can't book in to Elite Club separately - that has to be the room category that you book. So, if you've already booked a regular garden view room, you would have to inquire if you can upgrade your room to either the Suite with frontal sea view -Elite Club or Jr.Suite with frontal sea view - Elite Club (the latter is the category that I showed in this video). I'll be doing a separate video on what Elite Club includes at this resort, so stay tuned for that! Thanks for watching!

Video is fine, weird that there is no mention of price. Hard to evaluate an upgrade without that info. I'm assuming this room was comp'd so you could put up this video

@@alonefungi2559 ha ha no that would have been nice but I spent a total of maybe 6 minutes in that room but the basic room comparison is the one I stayed in. I love the view from the upgraded room but the basic room was great too. Just trying to show people what their options are. I didn’t include the price difference because it varies day to day. Impossible to quote a difference.

Is the adult section better than Riu palace ?? My husband and I will be there in early November. I already booked with riu palace but thinking to change to the adult only if they have rooms available. Thanks 😊

Hi TeaLover! Well I preferred the pool area of Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas (family-friendly) but loved the newer rooms at Riu Palace Baja California (adult only) and if you stay at the latter, you have access to all three properties - it just gives you more options. Chances are probably better of having an ocean view if you stick with the family side but if you want newer, larger rooms, with more of an indoor sitting area, I'd rebook on the adult side. @@ChristineTurner okay thank you. A along as the room is clean and the AC and shower works and beds are comfy we are good. Mainly just for sleep, we go out pretty much all day during the daytime 😄

Hi Tea Lover! Look - the rooms on the Cabo side were fine - everything worked and if you're not going to spend much time in the room, I think you'd be just fine. I really did prefer to be on that side for the pool area BUT I'm also sure you can ask to change if you get there and decide it's not right for you - Obviously will depend on availability but it sounds like you're the type of person who will make it work. Have a great time!

Hi Lauren! Yeah I think it's odd too - the only time I've used my balcony tub was after a long day of touring a half dozen resorts. Probably racked up 20,000 steps that day and filling the balcony tub with a couple inches of cool water was a great relief to my aching feet. Other than that, I'm really not a bath person and I'm just not sure that I'd trust that no one would walk into my room - I mean the door is RIGHT THERE! lol. Could be a bit of a shock for everyone! 😂

Hi Ryan! Yeah there wasn't a huge difference in the rooms other than the massive balcony and view and the access to the Elite restaurant and the cabanas on the pool deck. I do like that these resorts with Elite Club are slightly elevated, even if you're like me and just book a basic room!
