It’s not a valid concern, just a strategy by the right-leaning CAQ who’ve made a mess of things to appeal to their base. Sadly, the PQ, who will likely form the next government, have adopted the same tone. The only reasonable position on immigration that I’ve heard so far is coming from Quebec Solidaire. That Denis Coderre is seriously thinking of running for leadership of the Liberal party should be enough to scare anyone away from them.
