Paul I just love that smile of yours. The beauty of you is that you never give up. You inspire us all. I lost 3 siblings in 3 years to cancer. The last one was in 2023 and it was my sister. That was rough. She and I shared a home but when she died I had to find a new place to live, give up the car, re home our pets and I started dialysis from kidney failure. I had a strong faith which helped see me through but I got to where I never got out much. I do however have wonderful friends and family and they take me places and keep me going. I love what you said about getting outside and listening to the birds and feeling the sunshine. Just being a part of that makes you feel more alive. You having fun at the football game made my heart glad. Live every day to the fullest Paul. You are so deserving of it.

I had a happy day too! My carer offered to take me to a farm and my initial reaction was no because everything was going to hurt etc also because I can't get around places like that in my wheelchair. I am usually bedridden. I decided to say yes and actually had an amazing day with all the animals! She helped me get around the farm by driving me to each paddock of animals, and getting out my walker at each stop. She was bloody awesome. Im buggered now, but I think it's great that we both have had a good day despite everything. ❤

@@tanyabrown9839 I am glad you're able to get out with carers. I find it incredibly hard to get out. I am suffering a lot, very sick with cancer, autoimmune and many disabilities and health issues. Today was the first time in a whole year that I was able to get out (besides medical/hospital appointments and tests) but now I am being punished hard lol. It sucks. But I love animals and I am glad I got to see them. ❤

Hi Paul. Tiffanythinks has a colostomy bag as well and she has learnt how to use it well and not restrict her life. She travels, swims, goes out often. You might want to reach out to her. You are a lovely soul and I wish you well.

Everyone handles their issues differently. Also Paul is in a lot of pain (he has an inflammatory arthritis attacking his spine, not just cancer) and as far as I am aware, Tiffany is not in as much pain, if she is in pain, but pain is subjective anyway. Best if we don't compare. ❤ Chronic pain is really shitty and makes us very tired.

@@iSheree True but if the colostomy bag is one of the things which is stopping him from going out, that factor could be taken out of the cards. Sometimes it's being overwhelmed by so many things which stops us instead of breaking our situations down into individual parts. Sometimes we can be distracted some from pain.. long term pain really can get a person down and focus upon it can sometimes make things even worst and send us into the downhill cycle of pain to feeling depressed which then can lead to even more focus on pain.. It's better if we can bring some good things into our lives if at all possible and to help keep a better mental health state. Being home all the time can be hugely depressing and discouraging.

@@tanyabrown9839 It's one of the things, but it's not the only thing. And it is totally a valid feeling if he factors that in to his reasons why he can't go out. I know all about the life of suffering and pain. I am pretty much bedridden and only leave the house to go to the hospital. I think he is doing his best and I am happy for him that he has gone out and had a good time. I don't think anyone should be discussing his thoughts and feelings though. Just be happy for him and leave it at that. That alone is encouraging enough. ❤

I feel so low, but I’ve had numerous friends asking me to join them for a coffee or a country walk and Im just not up to it. I struggle at the best of times being around people.
