I am healthy and 83 years old but at this age nobody knows when they might die or how. I have done all of.the things on your list now before I am ill. I chose to donate my body to a university medical school to do whatever is useful with it. It solves the funeral arrangements problem, it solves the financial expense of a funeral and it does some good too. A future doctor may learn anatomy or surgical techniques and save lives and maybe the doctors will be able to use tissues, though mine are wearing out as I age. I post this as a thought that someone might consider as a legacy gift. I decided to get my end of life tasks done early because I was the executor for my parents will and there was plenty to do, though they had made their wishes known in advance. I am not being morbid. I am being considerate as are you, Paul. I want the end of my life to be as easy as possible for those who are left behind. I thanked Jenny Apple and Kyle for their last vlog for teaching the rest of their You Tube family how to live and die gracefully. The POG family in their way have done the same. Now you, in your logical and charming way are adding to the knowledge that too many have not grappled with as they age. Death sneaks up on all of us and we have no idea when or how we might need to think about this subject. I am free now to live completely and to end neatly and within my own ethical and moral requirements. So thanks, Paul for your contribution to this little task that some of us may wish to learn about before a final crisis.
@PaulinPerth Жыл бұрын
Thank you Helen. It's great to hear that you have your final affairs in order. And I love that you are donating your body to a university medical school. My first degree is in IT, but my second degree (that I didn't finish) is in Medical Imaging. Several of the units involved anatomy classes with bodies of donors. I can first-hand report that there is no book substitute for handling the real thing. Thank you so much for contributing to that educational process. It truly helps, and is beyond value. Paul.

First, I would be honored to call you friend, and anytime you want to reach out to me, I would love that! Thank you for the love and shoutout, a few of your cubbies have stopped by to say Hi and I love it! Your list, for Jenny, was absolutely FANTASTIC! My husband was killed, when we were struck head on by a drunk driver in Feb of 2021. His death was instant, and I was critically injured, not expected to survive. My family took all of our important papers from our home, trying to sort through everything. It was very difficult for them. We didn't have ANYTHING in order! No will! Nothing! Now, I have a team of lawyers, one who handles all of this for me, as well as now I have a filing cabinet, with all of my papers in order.....along with passwords and bills and accounts to everything! This is so important! Passwords and links! SO IMPORTANT! You have methodically thought out even more than I have.......and so I will be utilizing your list here to help me and my family even further. THANK YOU!!!!! God Bless you and your purpose/calling in helping so many as you move forward. I am praying feverishly for you my friend! hugs, Heather xoxox. thekneadyhomesteader@gmail.com

She was in great shape, athletic and just kept losing weight and getting weaker. When she finally went to the doctor she had stage 4 cancer and was dying. Neither of us thought about needing to think about a care directive. At the very end she was so thirty and wanted water and was denied water and only given a sponge with water and she said that was just miserable. So thinking about the comfort and the very end can be just getting a drink of water. Paul you are so kind to give this information to those that need to think about this. I am not dying so far and do have some of these directives in my directive along with the will.

Thank you! This information was also helpful to me as well. I'm a planner so now I have a direction in way to start. I'm not terminally ill but a plan in place is never a bad idea as we all go at some point. Planned or not, I would rather be ready and ease the burden of my family. Your kindness is shown each day!

Thank you Paul. I can appreciate how this will help people who are terminal but also for everyone to think about. God bless

I know this was for Jenny Apple - I too am a subscriber of hers & so very sad about the latest update. But.. Thank you Paul. My mom was diagnosed last year with Lung Cancer and earlier this year had mets to the brain. She isn't terminal (that we know of) but this list is so very helpful. You are such a great speaker and so easy & enjoyable to listen to. Everyday I log into KZbin & check first thing for the latest CU. Sending love & hugs all the way from Midwest USA to you, Jenny Apple & the POG Family
