This is a really cool project! My understanding is that the K361 was not commonly installed in garden tractors because most manufacturers opted for twin engines instead when they upped the horsepower. Generally I’ve been really enjoying your videos - it’s great to see both extensive knowledge of Cub Cadets, which are uncommon on the Canadian Prairies, and Ventracs presented in a thorough manner.

Glad you enjoy the videos. The K361 never took off. I think you are right by the time Kohler came out with it the single cylinder engine line was done being replaced with higher HP twins. The K361 has its issues, But they are pretty powerful when they run. I was happy to find the one I have I think it will work well for this build.

Did you see the Super cub frame for sale on Marketplace in Alliance Ohio for $125 you wouldn't have to lengthen that one

This is awesome and funny at the same time. I picked up an 1872 chassis over the summer and just finished cutting it and a 1450 chassis to do the exact same thing, that's why I've been trying to get a running K361 up to me in Canada, also your thought prosses for the project is the same as mine, steering from a 982 and all. Are you on Facebook ? I posted pictures of my progress on a few to the Cub groups. We are going to have to meet up at PA plow day when these machines are done !!!

I do not have a Facebook, I just use my wifes to look up things. I am curious on how you did your, I am going to have to check it out. The main problem I am trying to figure out is how to make the K361 fit. I am going to have to send the engine out to have the pan cut and modified. I found a shop online that does it. It is not going to be easy, But in the end I think it will be really cool. I am excited to have a super quietline. There is just something about the SGT. I was going to use a stock rearend, But I am just going to try to find a super rearend. I think it will be my best bet. You can email me at steiger256@yahoo.com if you have any questions or share pictures of the build. I will definetly try to meet up at a plow day when we get these done.

@@steiger256 I'm using a stock rear for now unless I can fine another super cast iron trans for it, lots of regular GT transaxles around. I'll send you some pics of my frame when I was cutting them to match up, I cut them at an angle to keep the QL dash mount but have the super pedal mounts in the right spot.

@@FullMetalFab I would like to see some pictures of it. I would like to find a 982 rear, But stock would work. The 982 parts dont come around to often. I would like to cut mine so I can use the steering brakes as well.

@@steiger256 If the pictures went through you can see the duel brake pedals and main brake pedal are still on the super frame.
