Beautiful job on the restoration and repower! You've built what appears to be the ultimate 582 and it looks very well-done and professional. I like how you incorporated the dummy lights into a single gauge on the dash, rather than drilling holes and adding extra gauges. What a nice example of an IH-built 582!

Thanks. I am very happy how this turned out. I really wish I could have got the low fuel light to work properly, But thats how some things go. I had thought of adding a oil pressure gauge in the amp meters place, But I thought it would look out of place for the machine. I wanter to use the low oil pressure and amp lights, But I really did not want to drill holes in the dash like you said. I think the warning light gauge looks pretty good. By a glance you really cant tell what it is. I will say getting on and off the tractor with the large tires is way diffrent then climbing on a regular tractor. I cant wait to get going on the diesel now.

Thank you for sharing your build with us. You did an excellent job with the build and the videos. I just got a 582 from the original owner and I don't know what direction to take with it. Thanks again.

I would put two stacks right up threw the hood . I would end them just at nose level . Not to forget the little flappers so they can make that ting ting ting sound on idle . The stacks have to be 4 inches diameter in black rust .

Very Nice job 👏, well done! I ordered my tires from Miller Tire yesterday for my 582 but have such a long way to go. They've been out of stock for so long I seen they had them so they're on the way. Still have to take it apart and fit the engine and driveline, sand, and paint, along w/ everything else but I'll get there. If mine turns out half as good as yours I'll be a happy camper!
@steiger2563 жыл бұрын
It took me longer that I wanted to, But its finally done. I have a few things to tweak on the driveline yet. I need to get some front tires from Miller tire for the diesel soon. I guess I better get on it. Im sure it will take a while to get.

If they got them, you'll have them in a few days. Pretty quick!

@@steiger256 I searched forever for a 582. Finally found one 3 months ago with creeper, spring asst, rear lift, Brinly adapter, 4 Ag tires, and a Retired man's price tag!!! 😀
@steiger2563 жыл бұрын
@@williamhouk6880 I am glad you found one. Sounds like you got a lot of great options. Spring assist and creeper are great options. It is really not that hard to take one appart and restore, It just takes time and patience. I am sure this will be a fun and great project that you say you are retired. Time was a big challange for me.

That is a great looking 582! What do you think of the command series kohlers?
@steiger2563 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I really like the command series. I had a 27HP command in a mower with over 1000 hrs trouble free. Great power and sound also.

The gauge light kit that you put on here and customized the gauge for. I was wondering if you would leave links for that . Thanks.
@steiger256 Жыл бұрын
That gauge was custom made pretty easy. I took a amp meter from a Bolens tractor. I use them from Bolens because the housing is made of plastic not steel. Makes it easier to cut. I cut the gauge in half with a hack saw and remove the guts. I layed down sand paper and sanded the bottom until I got it to be even with the back of the dash once I inserted it in the front. I took a piece of aluminum and drilled my 4 holes where I wanted them. I installed 14mm led indicator lights I got from Amazon. They were made by Alpinetech. Once i installed them I put 3M double face tape used for car molding on outer side of aluminum. You have to have plate half inch area or more larger than hole so you wont see tape. Then I put just a tad if black RTV silicone around the rim of gauge. Once you push it in the top of dash you clean the silicone that squeezes out. This was just to glue it in and keep water and dust out. Make sure to have tape completly around aluminum plate to help keep out dust. Hope this helped. If you can not find the lights I can find a link. If you would like a picture of the gauge email me a steiger256@yahoo.com and I can send some pictures of that as well.

@@steiger256 Where the light made with the indicators on them ?
@steiger256 Жыл бұрын
@@johnchadwicktilton Yes. If you search Alpinetech you can get many diffrent symbols and even colors. They are made custom. Glowplug, fan, fuel, oil pressure, ect. They have a wide range of symbols and sizes from 8mm to over 20mm. I am pretty sure mine are 14mm. If you got to big you wont get 4 of tgem in the single gauge.
