Thank you for this video.. very helpful.. I used to own a beautiful 982 but had to sell it to a friend when I moved west:( had the big snow thrower.. then moved back to MA and searched for another one but ended up with the 1872 with a power angle plow, mower, and a three point hitch.. it’s a beast but just ran into a problem today.. I have been noticing a little rattling from the motor and today it got louder so I wiggled to motor and it’s loose. I’m afraid to even look yet but after watching this video, I’m thinking the bolts came out because I did find one this fall that I couldn’t place 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Hello From Mark In Kentucky. I was wondering if a 1710 Cub Cadet was the same tractor as the older 682 Cub Cadet. I found a 1710 that I am looking to possibly purchase and I thought that it looks pretty similar to the 682 that I have. I had the issue with my carburetor float hanging and filling my crankcase full of gas. Would I be better off just removing the intake manifold tube with the carburetor still attached? I am thinking that my KT17 is gravity fed on my 682. Thanks.

I have a white 782 with a series 1 I acquired last year. It has about 400hrs on it. It's in very good shape except the engine is shot for obvious reasons. I think I have found a M18 in another cub that I want to repower the tractor with. Will it bolt right in? It looks almost identical to the KT17s.

I have a 782 with the same engine- KT17 SERIES II. It's basically a mosquito killer, and ive heard mixed things about these engines. Is it worth rebuilding or changing to a different engine?

Series 2 are Not Too Bad, I Would Rebuild it, but a Plain Kt17, I Wouldn’t! Most Likely a Set of Rings will Help the Smoke Situation😊

these things look pretty close to an ariens gt series do you know what other motors would be a direct bolt in swap?

As long as it's not John Deere most kohler motors have the same bolt pattern

I do realize that you’re just trying to create content, but I would’ve thought you would’ve repaired the engine prior to re-install. I have a 1983 Bolens and with the KT 17 with similar problems that were cured with two used pistons and two new exhaust valves, and she runs like new again!
