Growing up is realising the tale of the Gracie family is just that; a tale. They portrayed themselves as these pioneers of an indefensible martial art when most of bjj was just repackaged Kosen Judo they learnt from Maeda. They portrayed the “Gracie challenge” as honourable combat when most of it was just going around Brazil and jumping people in the streets. The UFC 1 bracket was handpicked by Rorion Gracie to give Royce the best chance of winning. The story of the Gracie family is one of the biggest white washes in the history of martial arts.
@baldbull68088 ай бұрын
I dont know about the brackets. I would have avoided Shamrock at all costs rather than possibly face him in the 2nd round. Boxing was the most feared art and Rovce got that match in round 1. Kevin Rosier probably had the easiest bracket if he had made it all the way.

Most of his fights until he could snag something up. He did the Homer Simpson technique essentially. But yeah so funny to me when people are like “they have such a great chin” Yes yes he sure can take brain damage and not improve their striking or striking defense for the next fight like no one I’ve ever seen 😂😂😂

They all have a level of pride that sometimes gets in the way. But Renzo seems me the coolest one. At least nowadays. I was at a strikeforce event one time while he was there walking around. I had my camera out and was videoing some fighters walking past. He saw me and thought I was taking a picture. So he paused for a second to allow me to take the picture. But after about five seconds I told him I was videotaping. Then he took a step towards me and gave me a fake liver punch all while having a giant grin on his face. Still made me flinch a lot. Then we both had a little chuckle. I have video to prove it. Lol
