Growing up is realising the tale of the Gracie family is just that; a tale. They portrayed themselves as these pioneers of an indefensible martial art when most of bjj was just repackaged Kosen Judo they learnt from Maeda. They portrayed the “Gracie challenge” as honourable combat when most of it was just going around Brazil and jumping people in the streets. The UFC 1 bracket was handpicked by Rorion Gracie to give Royce the best chance of winning. The story of the Gracie family is one of the biggest white washes in the history of martial arts.
@baldbull6808
@baldbull6808 8 ай бұрын
I dont know about the brackets. I would have avoided Shamrock at all costs rather than possibly face him in the 2nd round. Boxing was the most feared art and Rovce got that match in round 1. Kevin Rosier probably had the easiest bracket if he had made it all the way.

For everybody wondering about the green and yellow belt. It's not that it's disrespectful it's just an extra lever for somebody to grab onto. That whole gym think sucks that they wouldn't let him train. That's why it's so important to find a well rounded gym that does it all and you can remain loyal to.

Most of his fights until he could snag something up. He did the Homer Simpson technique essentially. Ortega did the same, but at least be could strike at a pretty good level while he was piling up the CTE. And it shows because look what he believes in lol. He’s a conspiracy doofus. But yeah so funny to me when people are like “they have such a great chin” Yes yes he sure can take brain damage and not improve their striking or striking defense for the next fight like no one I’ve ever seen 😂😂😂

lol I never realized that in MMA the ONLY person he beat who wasn’t a nobody or have a 50-50 record was alex caceres Dude was pretty mediocre at MMA at medium level and walked around like a badass in the UFC, and went 1-2 only beating caceres 😂😂 I thought he had actually beat someone of note besides caceres. Which is a good win but.. not that great. Dude really drank his own cool aid in bjj and thought it would magically transfer to mma even though his striking is 💩 lol

They all have a level of pride that sometimes gets in the way. But Renzo seems me the coolest one. At least nowadays. I was at a strikeforce event one time while he was there walking around. I had my camera out and was videoing some fighters walking past. He saw me and thought I was taking a picture. So he paused for a second to allow me to take the picture. But after about five seconds I told him I was videotaping. Then he took a step towards me and gave me a fake liver punch all while having a giant grin on his face. Still made me flinch a lot. Then we both had a little chuckle. I have video to prove it. Lol

Cub's right though, Kron is tough. He took a beating from Cub and Alex and still kept coming forward. I remember when Cub was hitting hit to the body, they looked lethal. He can't strike his way out of a wet paper bag, but he's made of oak!

@@micahbodha6129 What's funny is he walks with his arms out in a weird way, almost like those grappling dummies or something.

When you’re tough for your own good its more of a curse than a blessing because you’re walking punching bag.

Cub said he was 19 and Kron was 17 when they did the tournament but Cub is five years older than Kron so something is not right.
