Some of the American classics have been refitted with cheap diesel engines. The number one place in the world for modified cars is Cuba which is due to the sheer resourcefulness and ingenuity of car owners.
Cars are full of DIY hacks to keep them running. They don't throw anything in the bin like we do. Cuban people are the world's best recycling nation when it comes to cars. There are quite a few Cuban Frankenstein cars. Owners going to extreme lengths hacking together different cars just to keep them on the road.
