Important: remember adjust start note in Maschine Input-Midi-Routings to match your kid while in midi mode, otherwise you won't hear any sound. C-1 in my case

Hello. I have tried routing the midi signal in both Cubase 12 and Ableton 11. I can record the midi data but it doesn't play the sounds. It happens to me in both DAWs. Could you help me?. Thank you.

Set the (start) notes correctly in the controller editor and startnote correctly when choose keymode to manual. I also had to do GROUP + C (pad 15).

hey man, love your professionalism. trying to connect in midi mode like you showed in the beginning however nothing is happening. The midi remote lights up the pads all yellow, and there seem to be a signal coming into the track it appears, though there's no output , and the other instruments are coming out of my computer , do you think its an audio issue? Again, not all tracks are having the same issue, and are new tracks in cubase 13 pro. Apple Ventura 2023. Thanks !

midi mode = no sound from pads + no incomming midi in cubase 10 , whats the culprit ?

So, the same thing was happening to me. Go to your Controller Editor and make sure that the pads start at C1 not C-1 or whatever your start note is in Maschine. Follow the same steps he said though. When you switch it to manual you'll see the start note nob there.

MIKRO MK3 users. 1. Proceed the same as the image. 2. Press the GROUP button and the SEMITONE + button on the PAD. 3. Once again press the GROUP button and the OCTAVE - button on the PAD. 4. The sound will now play the same as the image.

Weeks of digging around, watching videos, and yes, even opening a support ticket with NI, and I find my answer in under two minutes in this video. All I wanted was to be able to play and record Maschine and other VST instruments in Cubase, using the Mikro. Keep my workflow in Cubase, which is muscle memory at this point and not have to learn a whole new workflow with limited editing and sequencing capabilities. There was a 15 minute video that over-thought the everloving f**k out of the whole thing, with countless audio and midi routing procedures that made me want to stab myself in the eye. The 2 minute video NI support sent me just plain didn't work. All I had to do was click routing, click group, click input, midi, key mode manual, put Mikro in midi mode. Done. Play and record anything. Why were supposed experts gaslighting with "Well you have to understand that Maschine is intended blah blah blah" ??? JFC n the Holy Boiz! Things don't have to be so complicated! Thank you for making this video and just telling how to do this simple thing that unlocks the whole shabang. That's right, shabang.

Hi, I'm doing the same thing as you in the video, but when I put it in MIDI mode, it doesn't work for me, the MIDI signal doesn't get into the instrument track.

Midi mode completely disables the controller. My 16 year old midi controller keyboard can play Maschine in Cubase with no adjustments of any kind. Then again I just paid NI $300 to be able to use the Mikro. What to do.

The problem I found is that the range of notes that trigger your maschine samples goes from C1 to Eb2, but in MIDI mode, your start note is C-1 and it goes to Eb0, so it clearly does not match. To change octave in MIDI mode, hold the group button, and then press pad#15, which should be in light red. This corresponds to the octave C1.

@@srglzrmj In the case of Maschine Mk2, use the start note knob on the Midi Input settings of Maschine to set the note to C-1 Probably works for Mk3 and Mikro as well. Now I haveMaschine drums as Midi in Reaper just like with Cubase. Yey.

It is working, but you loose all MK3 functionality like ARP and chords etc.. My suggestion is, start the maschine mk3 as a standalone and sync with your daw, problem solved! Voila!

You're a saint! Thank you So So much. Other tutorials were more complex and this one solves it in a flash, the other people on here make sure you press SHIFT + the circle button not just the circle or it wont work into midi mode! I have a question or two for you if thats okay? Do you know how to make the Mikro or the Komplete Kontrol I also have A25 - into a mode controller so the midi controller can use the record,play,stop etc functions on cubase so i dont need to use machine in standalone mode? Id love to work within cubase but i like how it controls in maschine 2 , and it be nice if you could use the functions of the controller same way i have my . launchkey49 novation setup that many people do with a mackie hui setup cubase. Any ideas? And it would be awesome if you could help me understand how to use my A25 komplete kontrol with maschine and or kontrol too if you're familiar ? Thanks again for making this video really saved my day, be nice if it can save for more then a template or im not really sure how to save it so i dont have to set it to manual everytime. So went out and bought cubase elements after seeing this video, thinking it was this simple, when I right click and add an instrument it doesn't even come up with the option to select my maschine mikro. Please help what haven't I done?

Thank you for such an wonderful video. I have an issue. When I add an maschin2 track and click search icon I can't hear the instruments and when I blindly select one - the whole pattern comes in (like all the pads gets lightened up)... when I play record ! The whole pattern is played as default beats. Plz help.

If I remember, you need to hold shift and the button that says “pattern” so you just load the sounds and not the patterns.

For me a really big part is missing. Can you setup outputs for each individual Pad? If yes thats a reason for me to buy.

Yes, the Maschine plugin has 16 individual outputs. Just enable them in Cubase and assign each output to a pad in the Maschine mixer.
