For the curious: Stereo = twin suspension Hybrid = electric 140 = travel of both suspensions HPC = High Performance Composite SL = The level of equipment: SHIMANO XT, SLX, groupset, Kiox head unit and FOX SUSPENSIONS 625 = battery capacity 625 Wh 29 = tyre size

Jack Beames SL means SPORT LINE (Cube branding) and it indicates that this model is equipped with Shimano SLX, XT, Fox suspensions and the Bosch Kiox head unit.

There's GOLD in them hills! This "budget" fork felt so good on this Cube Stereo Hybrid 140. The Bosch motor on this puppy is definitely more powerful and makes the climb to the top a breeze (I was on eMTB mode most of the climb). The lighter motor and lighter carbon frame makes this bike playful and easy to maneuver around obstacles.

I'd say best Bosch Gen4 integration on the market. Couple that with the more aggressive geometry and this steed is ready to stomp.

I really am consistently so impressed with CUBE's ability to innovate in a market that generally doesn't. That integration along with the new suspension is truly a master class in awesome eMTB builds.

First time negative comment: SCOTT the kiosk location is perfectttttt. Center mounted displays like other brands do are asking for trouble. Placed next the stem adds what I think is great protection. Also make sure it is set up tight but enough to swivel on impact. Screen would most likely brake on hard impact but the hope is that if you hit it it moves with the impact. Just my thoughts but they're probably right lol. OTHER than that thanks for breaking down the bike. This is a great model to step into the cube line. Buy this and then close my eyes and pretend I have the action team....

That's actually an interesting perspective! It would make sense. Give it a bit of leeway, allow it to flex on impact. Could be correct!

To make everyone aware, the small plastic cover around the motor is very weak. It will soon smash off, costs £39 and Cube don't have it in stock and don't intend to have it in stock any time soon. It's clear Cube are not supporting after sales. You have been warned.

For blue/red trails and just general fun would you recommend the 140 instead of the 160? I thought the 160 with 27.5 wheels would be more agile and easier to ride but doesn't seem the case? Also any thoughts regarding the ORBEA Wild FS H30 which has lessor specs....I can get all these for £3.7k and also the Specialized levo base model for £4000 which also has lessor specs by looks.

Hey Scott.. just catching up with your channel.. love it! Up here in Monterey so SD is a bit of a hike to tryout/buy a Cube.. I have 5K to spend.. need a trail/light down hill.. riding an old fat tire Rad Rover.. so looking to upgrade big time.. Bosch gen 4, 29er would be perfect.. can you guys mostly build and ship? Thanks for the advice

I brought the Action Team as i hate the TM Dull Grey colour .. if the TM had a better lighter colour, then IT would be in my garage... but the Action Team is Fully Loaded, i only changed the Saddle, grips and fitted Saint spd peddles, Plus Nukeproof ARD inserts... Job done!
