@@ajwashere yes of course. Well, I thought the title was sort of click-baity, but I understand that you need to get your stuff out there, and this is more of a matter of personal preference and its fine. Honestly I don't remember anything else, perhaps that was just what I caught and wrote the comment based off of. One tip that I could give is to try to make your content more packed, simple, accesible without too many extra things that can just be distracting. I understand that memes and jokes are entertaining(and can still stay and have a place), but writing some story on the screen which requires me to pause the video kind of put it off for me. Sorry If this sounds too critical, I did enjoy this video, but this is how I'd do it since you asked :). Basically you could try to balance both the entertaining aspects and the packed with value aspects. Peace to you🧙

The sample rate trick essentially just cuts frequencies. to match the human audible frequency spectrum you need to double the highest frequency the human ear can hear. So to fully reproduce what you can actually hear you need a sample rate of about 40kHz but it's always good to have a little more just in case :) so 44.1KHz is standard (48kHz, 96kHz and more are also used a lot)

Engineer here (not audio, like robots and stuff) Super cool beat, love the video. Quick note, if you’re changing the sample rate to act like a high-cut, it’s important to know that the actual high-cut frequency is gonna be half of the sample rate. We studied this a good amount in my undergrad. Look up “Nyquist Sampling Theorem”. Tl;Dr: you need a sampling rate of twice the highest frequency you wanna capture to accurately record the sound. Ex: human hearing goes to 20kHz, so that’s why music is typically sampled at around 40kHz

I like how you made it a point to say that you ARE NOT an audio engineer, but a mechanical engineer, then went on to say everything about audio engineering and nothing about mechanical engineering lol.
@CrypticBTR2 жыл бұрын
@@audiostuff9065 Normally I wouldn't reply to a comment like this but I've got time today. I just meant I am not an audio engineer by profession--like I don't work in a studio every day. I am both a practicing Mechanical (Bachelor's) and Robotics (Master's) engineer and an amateur producer and audio engineer with 7 years of experience. I just wanted to be humble in my comment. Your statement that I talked about audio engineering and not mechanical engineering demonstrates a fundamental lack of understanding on your part of what mechanical engineering includes as well as what this whole audio engineering thing really is. The cool thing is that while the applications may look different on the surface, lots of disciplines need to worry about the frequency content of electrical signals in wires. Whether its audio or a pressure reading or anything else is actually not important. A signal is a signal, it doesn't even need to be voltage in a wire. We just happen to be able to hear signals between 20-20k Hz when they are converted to pressure waves in the air. Also where do you think I learned about the Nyquist Sampling Theorem? I'll tell you: a mechanical engineering class called Basic Measurements Lab, where we measured stuff like tensile stress in beams, velocities at different points in a turbulent jet of air, temperatures of heated objects, etc. So not only do you not know what you are talking about, but you are just straight up wrong. My comment was about both mechanical engineering and audio engineering because professionals in both fields routinely find themselves concerned with the frequency content of electrical signals in wires--that was the whole point. Honestly I probably have a much more solid foundational understanding of the lower-level processes in audio engineering than "real" audio engineers because I've done the math--I've assembled low-pass filters with resistors and capacitors then calculated their cutoff frequencies and Q values by hand, I use filters on data streams every day at work to clean up the signals, I've even applied low-pass filters to images to remove noise. Did you know images are also a signal that contains content at different frequencies? A blur is just a low-pass filter. What were you hoping to accomplish with your comment? Why put that negativity out into the world? You could have just looked up the Nyquist Sampling Theorem and seen that my comment was totally accurate. I'd ask you to ask yourself with an open heart: why did I feel the need to write this reply? My guess is insecurity in your own skills with audio since your account is called audio stuff. It seems like this kind of stuff often stems from insecurity and feeling like you've got "something to prove"
