5:26 the solution might be shorter, but the EG-1 alg in Yiheng’s solution is way spammier and far less risky! Personally I always mess up the EG-1 alg from your solution officially and unofficially and it never flows well, but Yiheng’s EG-1 always flows well, as shown by his time!

For that 4th solve, Yiheng probably chose that EG-1 case because it's easier to spam TPS with that algorithm, and judging by the solve you can see that he really took that TPS spam to the extreme

for the 4th solve an even better solution is the same insert on green but you can cancel 3 moves into a different alg for that eg1, which makes the solve a 7 mover (U2 R' F R2 U2 R' F). anyway if i got that officially i doubt i could get it sub 0.78 lol

as a semi pro 2x2er (almost as fast as Ram Thakkar) it would be easy to consider 2x2 dead after this but based on my solving and considering that other people are significantly faster than me, I believe this record can be broken again either by Yiheng or someone else although it is most likely that it won't happen for multiple years. Also, I found the last solve interesting since the alg I used which I personally think was better than the alg you used R U R' U R U' R2 F' R F R' F' R which leaves with a u' AUF seemed much faster and less risky than what Yiheng did especially considering his solving style. In solve 4, if you put the side with 3 green pieces on the left and the orange bar in the bottom, you can cancel into an LEG-1, by doing R2 F' U F2 R2 F' U, an 7 mover that Yiheng missed bc he doest know LEG, probaly could have been a better time
