I am from Germany and I have the same car and engine.First of all, the performance is amazing for only 1.4 liters, but since it is turbocharged it takes a shitload of fuel when you drive like this on the autobahn. In the city where I drive rather sportive it takes me 7.1 -7.5 liters/100km.On long autobahn trips I try to stay around 140km/h most of the time and the fuel consumption goes down to 6.1 - 6.5 liters/100km which I find absolutely okay.As you can see in the video it is possible to ride this car pedal-to-the-metal at around 200km/h constantly, but you will pay for it at the gas station. From the begining of the video to the end this car rides 50km and looses roughly 3 marks on the gas tank amplitude. That makes a range of 260km per gas tank. One tank contains 55 liters so the fuel consumption in the video is an astonishing 20 liters per 100km! If you have the money, go ahead and have some fun. If not you might want to stick to at a 140km/h and still have a great trip :)

At least on mine though the first quarter takes forever to start dropping, and after that it goes down pretty fast. If the needle is at the center mark, you can at least fill up like 30 liter, maybe 35 liter. With a 50 liter tank, IIRC, the Golf 7 should have a smaller one. Fuel consumption at moderate speeds (i.e. what people drive outside of Germany) is pretty good. Especially when driving with cruise control, with the cruise control being set to Eco). I've set everything to Eco, it's still fun enough to drive (and if I actually want lots of power you can always do a kick down), and it makes a big difference. i.e. you can only get it to consume 13-14 liters or so at vmax (at lower speeds it may consume more). You notice that there is less power, but it isn't that much less. Seems like for a couple of percent more power it consumes like twice as much...). I envy the 2.0 TDI drivers. The engine is just as powerful, but oh so frugal. It's insane.

So Golf GTI (practical) or A250 (looker) or 125i BMW (best driver)? I really can't decide between them all. Ideally I would get a manual A250 with 4matic, but as that won't happen will probably get a used cayman or 911 instead for similar money.

Hab jetzt auch endlich meinen G7 2.0 TDI HL Sunset Red metallic abgeholt. :) Die ersten 1000km hab ich fast rum, dann kann ich ihn auch mal etwas treten. Aber so richtig erst nächstes Jahr mit Sommerreifen.

Take another look. There is a car in front of the police car, they are not "measuring speed", they have just stopped somebody or are assisting somebody that stopped there. There is no speed limit where he is driving.

It's not really strong wind noise... like, it is noticeable, but I've been in bigger cars that were noisier. The engine is pretty quiet/well isolated. The microphone probably makes it sound louder than it is. It's not an S class, but for a compact hatchback it's really not bad.

Das kommt auch noch dazu. Ein Störung von irgendwelchen Sensoren oder Schaltern. Habe ich glatt vergessen. Aber jetzt wissen wir wenigstens, dass in dem 7. Golf an der Beleuchtung was nicht stimmte.

Trevor Geary Yes and the life of the engine is 150 000 km where the warranty ends, than falls the very high quality belt in pieces and you have to buy a new VW with a new very high quality belt. At least you can spare money on timing belt lol.
