Quick review on Grizzly cubic mini wood stove.
Used it on and off for approximately 6 months.
It's a great stove and I highly recommend it.

You can clean the glass by dampening a crumpled piece of newspaper, dipping it in ash and scrubbing the window clean.

Cool little setup brother, the stove might be sucking a bit to much air causing the quick burns. In the video you can see the flames being sucked out of the stove, slow the air intake and get a little more time on your burn. (my opinion only)

To heat up a cold cabin use seasoned wood. Once cabin is warm or you want the stove to heat all night without having to get up then use half seasoned wood. The coals will burn the non seasoned wood.

Hello I own a grizzly i put it in my 28 foot tin can vintage camper, I have the floor pedestal mount. Let it burn the ash off the viewing window. No need to clean it. The heat of the fire will burn it off. The grizzly heats my camper nice and toasty. Very nicely done

If you would install a heat sink like a water tank to absorb the extra heat, you wouldn't have to reload for up to three days.

Enjoyment and peace of mind out weighs the cost. It's my little get away. With 11 Grand-kids it also gets used quite a bit, and I can sit on the front porch and watch them play in the creek. It was a great investment.

That looks awesome ! I love the hanging shelf, it is such a great way to effectively use the space . I have a Heartstone stove with a large glass window . I use Perkins Hearth Glass cleaner , it is a paste and leaves a silicone film which helps to keep the heavy soot from building up. Also the wood should be about 20- 25% moisture content with that small of a cavity. Great video!

The newer stoves will not damper down to nothing, they have a hole in the damper. Pull the damper plate out weld the hold shut and you can have a much longer burning fire.

When your stove is cold, take some news paper, crinkle it up in a ball. Dip in cold water, dip it into ashes, and clean wood stove glass with it. Works really good , better than store bought. Try it and you'll do it that way from now on, guaranteed. ROY

The best way to keep the soot off the window is to burn a hot fire. When you damper it off the soot will re-accumulate but then just build another hot fire to burn it off.

I have the cubic mini in my tiny house ans I love it. If you used the presto logs the lighter color ones, and cut them up smaller. My cubic mini will burn for 4 or 5 hours with the damper about half way open. Alot of times ive came home after being gone all day and still have coals. There great little stoves.i know the aize you have you can get a cook top for the top of it. I was going to go that size but I got the cubic mini cause they do heat up really well and they will cook you out.

To clean the soot from the glass , just use anything like windex on a paper towel and dip it in the fireplace ash. The ash is mildly abrasive and you’ll be shocked how it cleans the glass between burns. Way easier than a razor blade

The build up on the glass is from moisture in the wood, if the wood is dried and seasoned the glass should stay clean. A good hot fire should clean the glass, you can wet a rag and dip it in ash to clean the glass works way better and faster then a razor blade.

Easiest way that I've found to clean the glass is to wet a rag or a paper towel, dip it in the ashes and start cleaning. Works like a champ. Give it a try and let me know if it worked for you. Good luck!!

Try to adjust the damper so the burn is slower. Also hard woods burn slower than soft woods like pine. Elm Burns real slow, pecan burns slow. But pine, poplar mahogany....those softer woods will burn faster and hotter. I had a barrel stove that I put a double damper on it.
@mantislake4141
@mantislake4141 4 жыл бұрын
His pipe appears to be double-walled so there's no damper. Most newer stoves have a baffle that prevents the heat from going straight up the flue and therefore have a lever on the stove to control box air flow

The wood you are burning is not dry enough. If it is totally dry or kiln dried it does not blacken the glass. QED

I still have not clean the pipe because it has not built up creosote, sounds like you use your stove more than I do. You may have to keep yours hotter or change your wood which may be the reason why you have build up ?.
