Notes From the Game: + Darius Vines was pretty good tonight! 6 Innings of 3-Run (2 Earned), 4-Hit Ball, Walking 2 and Striking Out 5 in a No Decision, keeping him at 1-0, but his ERA does climb up to 3.98. Not sure if he would get a Start in the Postseason, but I think he's making a Decent Case. + Bullpen was also Good. Sure, Yates gave us a Scare in the 9th, but he Limited the Damage. Tonkin was Excellent, and Chavez Got his First Win of the Season after returning from the IL Recently. All in All, 3 Pitchers were Needed to FINISH the Final 4 Innings, Allowing 2 Runs (1 Earned) on 3 Hits, Walking 1 and Striking Out an Additional 5. Not Perfect, but still Good! ROTATION TOTAL: 10 Innings, 5 Runs (3 Earned), 7 Hits, 3 Walks, 10 Strike Outs, 2 Home Runs Allowed. 3-13 with Runners in Scoring Position, and 5 Men Left on Base in a 3-Run Deficit? Come On Guys, You saw what happened Yesterday, and they did it again Tonight! + THE OZ-MAN WITH A MAGICAL NIGHT! 3-5 WITH A SOLO SUPER MISSILE TO START THE SCORING IN THE 1ST, THE GAME-TYING RBI SINGLE IN THE 8TH, AND THEN THE GAME-WINNING RBI SINGLE IN THE 10TH! Ozzie Steps Up to a .278/.331/.845 Line with 33 Home Runs, 107 RBIs, and 13 Stolen Bases through 144 Games! + THE BIG BEAR WITH A NIGHT OF HIS OWN! 2-4 With a Double in the 2nd, AN RBI REACH ON FAILURE When Nico Horner YEETED A TOSS TO KENNESAW in the 7th, AND THE GAME-TYING SOLO SUPER MISSILE IN THE 9TH! Ozuna Stands FIRM with a .270(+.002)/.341(+.001)/.881(+.009) Line with 37 Home Runs and 93 RBIs in 140 Games! + A HISTORIC, MVP-LIKE NIGHT FOR RONALD ACUNA JR.! 2-5 WITH 2 SINGLES, 2 STOLEN BASES, 2 CRITICAL RUNS SCORED, AND AN RBI! Best of all, RONALD ACUNA JR. IS THE FIRST MLB PLAYER TO HIT 40 HOME RUNS AND STEAL 70 BASES ON THE SEASON! Acuna Climbs to a .336/.414/1.010 Line with 41 Home Runs, 104 RBIs, and 70 Stolen Bases through 155 Games! GIVE HIM THE MVP! + OTHER NOTABLES: Michael Harris II and Matt Olson had 1 Hit Each; The Only Walk Recorded Tonight for the Braves was by Austin Riley, though he did strikeout the most, at 2. Rosario and Arcia though had Nights to Forget, Going 0-2 and 0-4 Respectively. + ANOTHER COME-FROM-BEHIND VICTORY THAT'LL GO IN THE MEMORY JARS OF BRAVES FANS EVERYWHERE! Darius was VALIANT, The Bullpen BENT BUT DID NOT BREAK, The Defense was SOLID, and the Offense... WHAT MORE IS THERE TO SAY? TWO GAMES INTO THE FINAL HOMESTAND, AND WE HAVE TWO THRILLING VICTORIES! + With this Walk-Off Win, The Atlanta Braves have done the Following: (1) Secured HOME-FIELD ADVANTAGE FOR THE NLDS AND NLCS. The Braves Magic Number to Clinch Home-Field for the Entire Playoffs is at 2. (2) Their Bitter Rivals, The Philadelphia Phillies, have LOCKED UP the 1ST WILDCARD SLOT. Should they beat whoever has the 2nd Wildcard Slot (Which Belongs to Arizona at the Moment)..... THEY WILL FACE ATLANTA AGAIN IN THE NLDS. (3) The Cubs are Now FIGHTING FOR THEIR POSTSEASON LIVES, as Another NL East Rival, the Miami Marlins, Currently HOLD the 3rd Wildcard Slot via TIEBREAKER. (4) The San Diego Padres Elimination Number REMAINS AT 1. In Order for the Padres to get the 3rd Wild Card Slot, THEY MUST WIN OUT, THEN HAVE CHICAGO, MIAMI, AND CINCINATTI LOSE OUT. Never Tell Me the Odds! TOMORROW: THE FINAL ROUND of this Three-Game Showdown Between the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves will take place under the Evening Skies of Truist Park. Out of Options, Chicago's Last Hope against Atlanta Lies at the Hands of Marcus Stroman, Who's been on Limited Innings in his last three starts after returning from an Injury that kept him out for the entirety of August. So Far, he's allowed 4 Runs (3 Earned) Over just 6 Innings of Work in September, going 0-0 in that span. Meanwhile, it will be up to A.J. SMITH-SHAWVER, who will take up Battle Stations for the Braves. His Last Start at the Major League Level was on July 30th against The NL Central Champion Milwaukee Brewers, allowing just 3 Runs on 4 Hits in 5 Innings of Work. With the Braves EXTREMELY SHORT on Starting Pitching, this Final Week can be considered an Examination of their Options for the Postseason. Can SMITH-SHAWVER and the Braves Complete a STATEMENT SWEEP of the Cubs, and put them on the Edge of the Cliff of Elimination? Or will Strowman and the Cubs force themselves and the Braves back from that Cliff, and Escape Atlanta with a Critical Win? We Will Find Out at 7:20 P.M. EDT / 6:20 P.M. CDT on Marquee Sports Network (Cubs), Bally Sports South (Braves), and MLB Network (Out-Of-Market ONLY)! SoundFX09, Signing Out!

THE MVP RACE IS OVER NOW!!! ...... ACUNA HAS THIS IN THE BAG. Just the overall sequence of events SOLIDIFIED why Acuna IS THE MVP. RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning to TIE the game. He stole 2nd base (making history with his 70!) and scored the WINNING RUN on a RBI single from the next hitter (Ozzie). That's the embodiment of the MVP. The FIRST player in MLB History to have a 100 R (could get 150 runs scored) 40+ HR 100+ RBI 1.000+ OPS season from the Leadoff spot. (All of his at bats have come from the Leadoff spot. (Mookie would be the second with his next HR). But he solified the FIRST EVER 40 / 70 season... while LEADING MLB in Hits, Runs scored, on-base percentage. SB, TOTAL BASES.... second in batting average,, and WAR. He turned in on in September, while Mookie couldn't repeat what he did in August. CONGRATULATIONS TO ACUNA FOR AN HISTORIC SEASON, THE MVP, and hopefully a World Series (that He contributed to help WIN).

It's almost a guarantee at this point they'll get it. They only need one more victory or an Orioles loss, and there are 4 more games left in the season, our last 3 against the Nats.

Two sickening losses in two days. Acuna did it all in the final inning. He got his 70 th and the winning run. This gives the Braves Home field advantage. We may need it with our pitchers down for a minute.

I am so happy that I was at this game and got witness history being made!!! Ronnie with the first EVER 40/70 season in MLB history, and then his best buddy Ozzie driving him in on the very next pitch! When I say Truist park was rocking, I truly mean it, never heard that place so loud! Hands down the best Braves game I've ever been to!!

How on earth does Snit get tossed for the umps error, these umps literally take no accountability for their mistakes then get trigger happy when they get called out. MLB needs to do something limiting umps from tossing players and umps.

So why wasn't that foul ball reviewable? That just makes no sense when there is replay review in the game now. Go Braves!!
@jakerittlinger440

Pitches to the plate aren't reviewable, and it actually wouldn't be feasible. Can you imagine borderline pitches being reviewed and stopping the game so often?
@tlukewinder6433
@tlukewinder6433 Жыл бұрын
@@jakerittlinger440 I know they are not reviewable, but any pitches that could be a possible foul ball should be reviewed! I never said anything about close pitches being reviewed, of course that would be idiotic to do, the games would last 7 or 8 hours if they did that. If there is a possibility a ball was fouled off but not called, then that pitch should be reviewed to get it correct. They put in the replay reviews to eliminate bad calls and to get the game MORE CORRECT, so possible foul balls should definitely be included in whats reviewable and what isn't. Its just common sense really, since these type of plays can change an entire games outcome so they should be part of reviews.

Every single umpire on the field tonight should be fired for that missed call, and not even checking a video replay using a crew chief challenge? Absolute dereliction of their duty as outlined by the contract they signed with MLB.

@@jakerittlinger440 Crew chief reviews are initiated by the head umpire on the field, at his discretion, and can be used to review plays that are normally non reviewable. Phil Cuzzi had no excuse as the ball even managed to pass Murphy's glove after contact and physically hit him on the leg on the ricochet.
