I am Italian and I just want to add that physical violence is accepted and actually encouraged during any italian game. Also, accept that the older members of the family will have NO mercy on the younger members of the family. They will not help or favor kids and they will never, and I mean NEVER let them win.
@Play-In-Games2 жыл бұрын
I can attest to the lack of mercy for the young ones! Many tough life lessons have learned during rounds of Cucu.

My hub is Italian….and the card game he and my son play is Spite and malice …..ever heard of it ….hubbys Italian GR mother taught him the game when a youth …
@Play-In-Games Жыл бұрын
As an Italian American I am intimately aware of both spite and malice 😂. I have played the card game as well but I had assumed it was an American card game and when I played it was with a poker deck. Does your family play it with Italian cards? Great family history thanks for sharing!

Just regular cards….it’s more addicting to my son than anything …. They will play for hours !!

My family is Brasilian and this game reminds me of the game Dorminhoco, but I can’t wait to play cucù with my family. I love your videos, keep up the great work

We play a game something like this but with three $1 bills. Play continues the same (minus the ghost rule) except that whoever loses his life instead of removing the token from game play, the person who "died" pass one of their "life" dollars over to the person with the highest/winning card. You can end up with extra lives as the game progresses because you gain "lives" from the death of your friends. Play continues with dollars moving back and forth across the table until one by one each play runs out of dollars and dies out of the game and the winner is the person who ends up with all of the money. The most you are out would be $3 and the potential win is the total of all of the players times $3.00. The more the merrier (and wealthier). :)

oh, nice! I Iike that variation. It sounds like a fun way to keep the stakes high, but not too high. I'll definitely give it a go the next time I play. Thanks for sharing!

But isnt there a spécial deck for cucu with the "il matto" card?
@Play-In-Games4 ай бұрын
Yes there is a Cuccù deck for an entirely different Italian game. And yes it has the Joker like Il Matto card. It’s possibly the oldest “packaged” card games, as it is produced to play only one game. On the other hand, this videos version of Cucù can be played with any deck including a 52 card one.

@@Play-In-Games Ahh thank you! Will you make a Video on how to play with the "il matto" deck? Its what i have and i would like to be able to use it 😅

Hi I come from Puglia. In my region, when the dealer has a king, then everybody flips their cards without doing any swapping so the lowest card(s) lose their life as usual

@@Play-In-Games oh and also the dealer can decide how many cards to draw from the pile in an odd number so 1, 3, 5 ... don't know why it must be an odd number though ... in your version of the game the dealer can pick only the first from the pile...

Is there any place/website you’d recommend for buying Italian style cards?
@Play-In-Games2 жыл бұрын
For better or worse, Amazon is the best place to find them in the US. You may be able to find some on Etsy or eBay as well. I’ve also seen a deck sold at some big chains like Walmart, they call it “Scopa” and it has rules for Scopa but you can use it for other great Italian games. Though, nothing beats picking up a deck in a Sicilian Tabacci shop, if you can get the chance. Thanks for watching!

It’s amazing to see the positive people she has touched and continues to touch, which says so much about both her and the possibility of positive online communities.

@@Play-In-Games She absolutely has. I've scrolled through so many beautiful comments from people that she has touched through her videos. I always treasure moments with the elderly. They have so many stories and just seem to be all around better humans. But Clara was something special. What a blessing to everyone around her. As long as you're sharing something with us I'll be here. Thank you Brother.
