Three of us play in the snow in the mountains in Frasier Park, CA, above Cuddy Valley. But a few miles down a snowy ravine my son loses steering and I brake a CV axel, leaving me in 2WD for the snowy climb back up the ravine. Which, of course, didn't entirely work, so I got to use my new winch. Thankfully there were plenty of trees around willing to lend a hand. Devon's steering "heals" itself well enough to get back home where he had to replace his steering box in his 2008 Jeep Rubicon. But he had to spend several hours in the freezing wet parking lot removing my broken CV axel as it wasn't safe to drive home with. And as to not feel left out, Matt's Tacoma wouldn't start - though that proved to be an easy fix with a simple part from the auto shop across the street. It's these challenges that make our trips feel even more adventurous - a great time!
